COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawing inspiration from an Old Fashioned cocktail recipe and the Gentlemen’s Clubs where the cocktail was first served over 100 years ago, this collaboration beer brings together two breweries from opposite ends of the country and ingredients from the home states of both breweries. Using an Old Ale recipe as the base beer, Gentlemen’s Club was brewed with cherries and oranges, Alchemy, Sorachi Ace and Pacifica hops, and hand-selected specialty malts to mirror the qualities typically found in an Old Fashioned cocktail. The beer was aged on three different woods: bourbon barrels, rye whiskey barrels and new oak spirals, resulting in three unique versions of the beer, each offering a slightly different take on the same age-old recipe.

Draught at Beer Mongers, Portland
Cloudy dark amber color with small head. It’s a good, warming American Barley Wine, well malty, moderately hopped, moderately sweet, with mild alcohol perception, and quite strong vanilla bourbon character.
A good sipper.

On tap at Apex, pours a murky dark orangey maroon with a medium beige / tan head. Aroma brings out moderate bourbon notes, vanilla and dark fruits. Flavour brings out loads of vanilla notes, bourbon, followed by dark fruit and caramel. Extremely well-balanced, and definitely the best of the trio. Dangerously drinkable.

On tap @ Out of the Park Pizza. Brownish pour with a khaki head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, orange, and toffee. Dark fruit, wood, and a hint of spice. Flavor is a touch boozy, but nice bourbon flavor. Vanilla, wood, and dark fruits. Orange peel, a bit of spice, and toffee.

bhensonb (15609) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Bomber from Belmont Station. Pours very hazy darkish copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is mild fruit, oak, and possibly bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is more oak than bourbon at first, but bourbon builds with time. The fruit is blurred, there’s detectable heat, and the hop seems citrus. The flavors are well blended and difficult to dissect. Somehow it is working into a fairly balanced, heading towards dry, finish. Nice drink to have with a book.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy dark brown with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted malt sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bourbon sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations.
