UPDATED: OCT 10, 2013 Bourbon Barrel version:
Deep brown with a touch of soft light at the bottom, with a pretty standard but solid brown head. Served entirely too cold, but after going through a sampler of other stuff, I was ready to drink the 10oz serving. The nose is rich and creamy chocolate, burnt malts with a little smoke... even some mint in there as well. Drinking it you notice the thickness and a sweet bourbon flavor, surprisingly not overdone in the manner of many barrel aged stouts released within the last couple of years. The bourbon compliments the burnt malt flavor very well, and the stout finishes with a solid finish of long lasting bourbon and wood.
