Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2009 Very surprised this one rates so low. Im usually disappointed when I go out on a limb and try somethig new, but not this time. Very nice balanced IPA (I usually drink Stone exclusively) with a very nice grassy, hoppy kick and not too much malt. This ones a pleasant surprise, and one Im going sample regularly from here on due to the moderate 6% ABV and reasonable price - $7.99/6 vs. $9.99/6 for Stone. Ive since re-rated this one. The only kick I have against this one at all is that its a little weak in the knees at 6.0% for an IPA. For all other factors, I think this might be the best Ive tried so far. This is a FANTASTIC beer, and is ESPECIALLY well balanced for an IPA!

Originally rated on 7/12/08. A nice offering from Widmer bros. It poured a Light copper colored body with a decent head, fair lacing. Aroma was really nice hints of peach, apricot and a little piney. Good mouthfeel was good, it has a decent bitterness, Nice flavors of citrus, slightly sweet. Overall a pretty good beer thats worth a try. Price was good too.

On tap at Circle 7. It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was of fruity hops. The taste was of fruits, floral hops and malts. The finish was clean and hoppy with a nice bitter aftertaste. Nice.

This is a pretty decent IPA. Lots of citrus and grapefruit, but it is remarkably balanced and sessionable.

This is not a very hoppy IPA for a British styled IPA. Its a hazy golden beer with a bubbly white head. The aroma is weak and citrusy, not a lot maltiness. The flavour is weakly grapefruity, but not as strong as traditional British IPAs

Orange copper, foamy, lasting off white head. Citrus, orange, zest. Flavour is orange sweetness followed by grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied, slightly fizzy carbonation. Nicely balanced finish.very pleasant.

Not a bad IPA. Full, citrus-y flavor with a sweet aroma. Aftertaste is quite pleasant.
