355 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours clear amber with a small frothy offwhite head that is rather slow to dissipate while leaving leaving some sticky trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty, slightly fruity and very tiny spicy with biscuits, cranberry juice, red apples, lingonberries, bread, orange zest, caramelized apples, slightly dry grass, toffee, lemon zest and cereal. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, tiny fruity and herbal with caramel, biscuits, orange peal, lemon balm, pine needles, red apples, resinous wood, dried cranberries, lingonberry jam and hints of cloves. Mouthfeel is round, slightly astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter, tiny dry and herbal with biscuits, lemon balm, lemon peal, red apple skins, black tea, pine needles and slightly dry grass.
December 22nd, 2014 - More snow, more December, more winter warmers, and tonight’s is the aptly named Brrr. Deep and dark, it has a very hoppy scent, with with grapefruit, and dotted with some aromas of caramel and raspberry and a touch of bubblegum. The flavor is also quite hoppy, much more so than I would have expected. The carbonation is strong with a solid mouthfeel and a medium ti medium heavy body, and a long twangy grapefruit aftertaste. It’s not my favorite collection of flavors but it is intense, and probably a little better for California drinkers used to puckering punches of hops. BeerRenter76 (1007) - Texas, USA - MAY 9, 2017
Originally rated on 12/31/08. I was expecting something a little darker and heavier but this turned out more like an IPA than a winter beer. Hoppy in aroma and flavor, some spice and malts show up in the taste. It leans toward the skunky side but it was tolerable. An o.k. brew JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - APR 30, 2017
Copper to light umber color with a smallish light tan head and a fairly heavy sheet of lace. Somewhat odd aroma with caramel malt and vegetable scent. The palate is very nice with a soft effervescence and just enough heft to not make it feel wimpy. Light start of sweetness is quickly swept away by an somewhat sulfuric mix. Slight metallic feel late. Bitter and nutty finish. Odd. 1/12

This is a Hoppy Red Brrr. I'm not sure if this is the right category for tasting. Nice combination though.

Bottle, BB 03.08.17 (from boxbeers). Pours red amber with beige head. The head stays for a long time. Nice lacing. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, pine, malt, toffee. Finish is pine bitter. Covers the ABV really well. Overall: bit macro (it has a kind of really clean/neutered feeling as other Widmer stuff), but otherwise nice, sweet, caramel-malt driven beer with some piney hops.

Consume 01.30.2017 as a single. Paid $1.29 for a 12floz bottle with August 3, 2016 as its bottling date. Appears a dark nut chestnut amber - check. Sweet, raisin-like aroma - check, but also a bit buttery and boozy. Hmmm...this is pretty smooth. It’s not something that bombards my mouth. Medium-full bodied, and leathery sweet. I consider this worth drinking as a middle of the road American strong amber. It ain’t offensive. donandres (527) - Bayombong, PHILIPPINES - JAN 17, 2017
12 ounce glass poured to wine glass
Appealing: deep red dark amber color, small off white tan foam looks clear
not too fragrant, slightly hoppy
medium carbonation, long follow through, long intensifying bitter aftertaste
Overall: good beer, a bit on the sweet side, nothing exciting but nothing exceptional either
