Bottle from union beer house. Pours a darker golden color. Aroma of cidery malt. Taste is grassy and floral with hops with an incredibly crisp finish. No lingering bitterness and not overly malty either. I like it. I would get a sixtel of this.

bottle. clear amber body with a small white head, quickly diminishing but with lasting lacing. starchy oat and rye bread and seedy malt and raw wort aroma with notes of DMS , corn, sulfur, dirty dishrag, dried peach and apricot esters and vegetable-stew American hops. medium-light body, light sweetness, medium bitterness. very sourish malt with a starchy and husky graininess and raw celery and cooked leafy greens. I don’t see how this sort of beer would be appealing to people. rbrazell (1698) - Florida, USA - APR 14, 2013
Draft at Fermentation. Amber pour with a bubbly white head. Sweet, caramel malts, biscuit and toastiness with light grass. Sweet malts, toasted bread, faint hop presence and quick, clean finish. Not bad. scooterbub (1067) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - APR 13, 2013
12 ounce bottle. Pours a darker gold with a one inch white head that lasts. Lots of carbonation. Taste is of malt, hops, caramel, grass, spice and yeast. Similar aroma. Has a nice wet body. The finish is a touch bitter. Easy to drink and enjoyable to drink. Well worth having again. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 12, 2013
12oz bottle, from Party Source. Bottled 12/19/12. Clear amber color. Thin off-white head. Good spread of lace. Lighter body. Good smooth carbonation, easy-drinking - especially nice to wash some food down with. Little fruity hop flavor. Little toasty malt, some caramel malt. It’s still a little difficult for me to pin down the flavor profile of the California Common, but this tastes like what you’d expect from a lighter version of the style. More bitter, little sweet. Solid, interesting stuff. Creative choice for a spring seasonal.

A medium mild beer in every way...taste, smell etc.. right down the middle of the road and amazingly average marcus (10560) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 11, 2013
Pours orange copper with a nice beige head and a bready aroma. There is a light pale malt flavor with that is slightly fruity with a bitter finish. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - APR 9, 2013
Overall, a pretty nice little steam beer, something I could see seasonal drinkers really digging in the sunshiny months.

Six pack. This is a nice looker that leaves excellent lacing in the glass. Nice malt backbone (kind of biscuity), slight hops, but the whole thing is crisp and flavorful. Doesn’t sate like Anchor Steam (the classic Cali Common), but still a good spring ale. ajnepple (6965) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 8, 2013
12 oz bottle. Amber and clear with an off-white head, patchy lacing and active carbonation. Rich, malty aroma with caramel, hops, cocoa and light fruits (banana). Light fluffy body with a soft feel. Medium malt sweetness with light bitter hops and light fruits. Smooth and pretty tasty for a lager.
