With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

Nice copper color, Fruity hop aroma, lots of fruit flavor, citrus, peach. Somewhat sweet on the lips, easy drinking, ok brew.

Bottle... Poured an amber color with fluffy white head that dithered fast. Hoppy, Piney aroma. Flavors of hops, malt and a nice tea leaf or ginger/ginseng presence which seperates it from a lot of Pale Ales. Wouldnt buy this one again, but it was definitely more than I expected.

Pours clear red-orange with amost no head. The aroma is citriusy, piney and smells quite a bit like cannibus actually. The flavor is more fruity than bitter, some cool hops are goin on in this brew.

Bottle poured a clear copper with a minimal amber head. Aromas of citrus, carmel and light pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp.Flavors of carmel and light citrus with a moderatly bitter finish. This beer smells MUCH better than it tastes!

Bottled. Clear, golden, topped by a small beige head. The aroma starts with something reminiscent of cats pee, but is very soon replaced by peach, lots of grapefruit and some malt. It has a nice, but a bit one-dimentional flavor with lots of grapefruity bitterness. Medium body and a long, but weak finish. Even though it has a bit strange nose and a one-dimentional flavor I liked it. (070302)

12 oz. bottle. Clear, red/amber color. Decent head, but short-lived. Well-considered mix of hops pleases the nose and the taste buds. The citrus tang complements the sweetness of the malt rather nicely, I really liked the W06, but this is very nearly as good. Widmer is not among my usual rotation, but I find myself looking forward to these late winter seasonals.

Picked this one up for fishing tomorrow, but I couldnt resist cracking one open tonight. Pours copper with a small head that dissolved quickly. Aroma is mellow citrus and very inviting. Nice pine hop flavor with an expectedly bitter finish. Real nice. Ill enjoy it tomorrow, and look for it again next year.
