3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2011 Bottle. It poured a deep dark orange amber with a thin (less than 1 finger) fizzy white head that dissipated quickly leaving behind a tiny bit of residue floating on top which created some fairly nice sticky lacing.
The aroma was that of caramel malts, citrus hops and an earthy yeast with hints of orange and grapefruit.
It tasted malty and slightly bitter with a hint of caramel and orange at first and finished with a strong bitter hoppy flavor that had a nice grapefruit presence at the end. The flavor stuck around for a nice little while allowing the hops to settle nicely at the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and dry in texture with an medium carbonation.
Overall an exquisite tasting Pale Ale that left a very nice hoppy citrus flavor lingering, letting you really enjoy all aspects of this brew.
Great Aroma and initial taste, but leaves a citrus peel aftertaste that’s too bitter to be considered refreshing. mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 27, 2017
On tap at Widmer, pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma is very like, with light floral notes and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is more aggressive for a pale, with floral hops and biscuity malt. Reasonably balanced but pretty boring. mrdrock (21) - - JUN 25, 2017
Bright citrusy aroma
Clarity of appearance
Fresh taste with effervescent bite
I like this for a pale ale.

Smooth and very drinkable. Great notes of citrus. Clean. Balanced bitterness on the finish. An excellently crafted pale ale.

From tap at The Widmer Brothers Pub, Portland. Aroma is soft fruity hops with mild citrussy notes and a sweetish caramel malt backbone. Flavour is moderate sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Classic APA, easy and drinkable.

Originally rated on 2/10/09. Aroma of citrus hops along with some malts. Appearance was a mid amber body, plenty of carbonation, thin head that left some lace. Flavor was a bit disappointing with the hops taking on a earty almost skunky taste. Overall it was fairly decent until the flavor got in the way trveboozer (3) - The Desert, Arizona, USA - APR 10, 2017 does not count
Great Summer beer, hoppy with a light citrus aftertaste. Doesn’t disappoint, perfect on any day. JackLope (1) - - MAR 19, 2016 does not count
I can’t find this anymore. My favorite location stopped serving it long time ago. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 5, 2015
3/4" head with nice lace and a firm cap atop a clear orange amber brew....
The nose is resounding citric... tangerine even..
Flavor is the same... zesty orange.. some doughy maltiness adds a little bit of sweetness.. with a light smack of caramel.. really balanced yet you still know this is a fresh PNW pale ale... medium body with a lively carbonation... even the burps taste like tangerine juice essence..
This is actually pretty damn good pale ale. justsayswell (281) - Kansas City, Kansas, USA - MAY 23, 2015
Reviewed from notes. Pours a clear amber with about an inch of head. Nose is bread, caramel, and citrus. Taste follows. Bready malt backbone with a punch of tropical fruit and citrus from the hops. A delicious and sessionable Pale Ale.
