OBF. Dark amber. Lots of citrus with some sticky malts. Pretty big beer, with a bit too much sweetness/alcohol. OK. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - AUG 8, 2008
OBF 2008. Heavily hopped grapefruit bomb, sharp bitterness, pithy and dry palate scraper. Smelled nice, but a bit to sharp in the bitterness for my tastes, I’d prefer more floral hop notes and less bittering hops, but you can’t please everyone and I know a lot of people really dug this beer. raphael (1288) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 5, 2008
I had heard nothing of this beer, having missed the OBF. handing me the beer the bartender said "it’s 10 percent." i had him repeat it as it made no sense (loud htrash music playing in the Slow Bar (great place, looks fine and has gourmet sustainable food). This smells good, unqiue hop aroma, flike a forest with a few grapefruits, moist & green, can’t figure out what else, a ripe kiwi; and something almost musky, approaching leather. clear reddish amber with thin off-white head. first splash seems a little flat,t he ralize its the slightly oily weight of it, some hop realted. despite the hops, the balance is on the sweet side (which is characteristic of my own brews), but doesnt go overboard, even through a pint. Hint of maraschino, oak, swampy (but clean) hops. i keep drinking more to describe the taste thus getting less capable. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 28, 2008
On tap at Oregon Brewers Festival 2008--Poured a deep orange-amber body with a small biege head. Big sticky hops nose. Grassy Downunder hops lingered. Earthy, sticky, thick. Hop bomb! boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 28, 2008
OBF, tap... Poured reddish/orange with an off-white head. Hops on the nose. Some nice hops up front with caramel influenced malt. Coats the mouth nicely as it goes down.
