A golden unfiltered wheat beer that is truly cloudy and clearly superb.

I was a bit disappointed by this. I thought that it was rather light and did not have the nice, sweet and spicy taste that I like in a good wheat beer. Ok, but lacking some grunt.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is light giving off a hint of lemon. Taste is not as complex as the German Hefes, there was not much spiciness or clove notes. Pretty sweet with flavors of banana, wheat and lemon. A little bland. The mouthfeel was full and round. Not bad by any means but it needs more. Eh.

Hazy and gold. Not much head at all. Not much aroma either. Smells like wood. Not a lot of flavor or bitterness. Wheat is the most dominant flavor. Gets almost soapy tasting after a bit. It would probably be an adequate beer on a warm summer day after mowing the lawn.

Vastly overrated, but I guess it’s indicative of the American hefe style. Murky beer, tastes slightly less wretched with a lemon slice, which should tell you that it’s very citrus-heavy to begin with. I’m not a fan of the American hefeweizens, and this beer does nothing to change that.

Pours a very hazy golden color. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Mild wheat flavor. A little sweetness and hoppiness. Not a ton of flavor, but it is a good refreshing brew.

One of my favorites, but I admit to enjoying it more on draft than in bottles! Fortunately, more places in the NYC/NJ area are carrying it!

This brew pours a cloudy yellow with a light white head. The aroma is kind of sweet smelling and the taste is that of any typical hef.

raymow (1732) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2004
Had a lot of floaters (if memory serves me correctly - which it might not) but that’s typical of an unfiltered wheat beer. Overall, nice flavor and aroma. I’m looking forward to trying some more from Widmer Brothers as this is my first beer tasting from them.

ross (2146) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - AUG 27, 2004
pours yellow. pretty light and not really much to it. a little thin but its still nice. sweet lemony and banana flavor to it. my bottle is brewed in NH, but whatever. not bad

color is hazy, light golden, head is white, thing and not really lasting. aroma has more banana than anything, also notes of wheat as well. flavor is dead on the same, but with a fair amount of hoppiness as well.
