22. Pours black with a thin, wispy dark tan head. Mild chocolatey sweet nose, kinda smells like Whoppers--malted milk candy. Fairly thin body. Soft carb. Chocolatey, chalky mid-palate with a mild sweet finish. AirForceHops (7679) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 9, 2013
12 oz. can purchased at @ Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. for $2.59. Stamp says bottled on 12 September 2012. Guinness pint glass shows a black liquid with a quickly disappearing tan head that leaves nothing in its wake. Nose is roasted barley, chocolate and light pine hops. Where is the sweet lactose or sweet sugar? I was expecting roasted malts and coffee sweetness somewhere. It tastes more like a weak Black IPA. Thinner body with a slight pine finish. When I open a sweet stout, that’s what I want to drink. Complete false advertising here. The rating reflects that fact. wlajwl (7008) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 6, 2013
Aroma is milk sweetness, roasted malts and a hint of tartness/acidity. The flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, milk sweetness, a hint of fruit and mild acidity in the finish. Patrickctenchi (6691) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 23, 2012

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body, almost black, with a small fizzy brown head that had pretty decent retention before fading to a thin film. The nose is quite sweet and chocolaty with some roast, light coffee, and maybe a bit of a weird dry roasted peanut like note. Flavor wise, it’s indeed quite sweet up front with a lot of milk chocolate and some coffee. It finishes a bit on the drier side though, with a slightly burnt and acrid malt quality that really lingers. I’m a fan of it not being overly sweet all the way thru, but the finish seems a little off. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. This is drinkable, but not something that I’d seek out and buy again.

The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is very similar. I get some bitter chocolate and heavily roasted malt notes. There is also a hint of smoke and some cream notes. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. DiarmaidBHK (5662) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Draft at bull run tap house. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. A bit of roasted chocolate oh the nose. The chocolate malt notes taste slightly burnt on the tongue. Not getting much of the lactose on the tongue. Eh ! jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 3, 2013
22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours black with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, hints of milk, some coffee and chocolate, and some floral hops. Flavor about the same. Smooth texture. A pretty good milk stout. jbruner (5121) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - AUG 14, 2013
Pours a thick black on tap with nice tab head and good lacing. Sons of coffee and roasted malts with a slight lactose sweetness. Taste is bitter coffee with a hint of toasted toffee and a silky finish. Nicely done. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 21, 2012
How am I the first to rate this?!? Anyway, bottle. Pours a very dark brown (almost black) with a moderate, though quickly disappearing, head. Some nice roasted flavors to the nose. Just a little bit of sweetness to the taste, but some nice roasting to the taste as well. Happy to drink this one.
