The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is very similar. I get some bitter chocolate and heavily roasted malt notes. There is also a hint of smoke and some cream notes. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. BVery (10711) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 17, 2013

Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Very malty aroma and a nice almost sweet malt taste with a clean finish.

Draft at Brass Tap Trinity. Pours a dark chocolate brown with a thin tan head. Mild roasted malt aroma with a touch of coffee. Pretty good amount of carbonation for a milk stout. Much appreciated bitterness in the finish with only minimal sweetness up front.

Aroma: Burnt malt, chocolate, licorice, and brown sugar.
Appearance: Dark brown, almost black, with a small off-white head.
Taste: Moderately sweet, and slightly bitter as well. There’s a bit of sourness in the finish.
Palate: Medium bodied, relatively thin texture, and an average carbonation.
black color, aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, same flavors, sweet milk sugar, some smoky notes, an alright sweet stout kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body, almost black, with a small fizzy brown head that had pretty decent retention before fading to a thin film. The nose is quite sweet and chocolaty with some roast, light coffee, and maybe a bit of a weird dry roasted peanut like note. Flavor wise, it’s indeed quite sweet up front with a lot of milk chocolate and some coffee. It finishes a bit on the drier side though, with a slightly burnt and acrid malt quality that really lingers. I’m a fan of it not being overly sweet all the way thru, but the finish seems a little off. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. This is drinkable, but not something that I’d seek out and buy again. ryanfolty (2584) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 10, 2013
February 10, 2013 - bottle from AV. Black pour with nice head that lasted and nice lacing. Roasted malt, smoke, lactose and piney hops. Taste was very roasty even ashy, but starts out smooth creamy milky. The finish was a rough piney bitterness that I did not care more.
