Cask at GBBF 2011. Amber/copper color with an offwhite head. Toffee aroma, caramel and butter. Toffee flavor, bready, butter. Only a touch of bitterness. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2011
Cask gravity at Gbbf 2011. Hazy copper. Lasting beige head. Toffee aroma. Bit of puke bit of toffee. Not exactly attractive beer. Yep displays all the elements of a marzen just not keen on the butter. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 13, 2011
A: The pour is a dark copper color with a tall white head that sticks to the glass a bit.
S: Smells mostly just of toasted malts. There is a lot of bread to it, maybe some earthy hop notes. A touch of vanilla to go with the mild sweetness. Just a little bit of yeast.
T: The flavor is just sort of bland. Bread and toasted malt with a moderate level of sweetness. A bit of yeast flavor, perhaps some earthy hop flavors as well. A very subtle fruitiness on the back end.
M: Medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation.
O: I thought this actually smelled pretty nice, but the flavor was not all that enjoyable. Dedollewaitor (16159) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2011

Slick orange. Sticky and mashy. Unbalanced sweet mess. Not getting the diacetyl others are, but I agree this is not a good use of beer ingredients. Painfully sweet and underattenuated. Dear Widmers, the bavarian octoberfest beers were _lagers_, not _ales_. If you don’t yet know the difference, it’s not surprising you end up with crap like this.
Caramel malt aroma. Sort of a mahogany amber color with a filmed white head. Medium bodied, with fine, mild carbonation. It starts caramel sweet with lots of fruit ester. There is a decent amount of bitter, and some bread. Something of floral hop. Finish is pretty dry, and the bitter accumulates. It is very good. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2011
Cask at GBBF 2011, Wednesday. Cloudy brown - offwhite head. Roasted, sourness, diacetyl, light hoppy, caramel, hay, straw. ØV. djd07 (14521) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 3, 2008
Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper color wtih a medium frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is sweet fruit with raisin and light hops. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet roasted malt with caramel and a spicy finish. A good amber ale from Widmer. Tmoney99 (14492) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Draft at The Grand, Ludington, MI. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate floral hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
