Keg at the Widmer tap, PDX, 08/11/14.
Lightly hazed amber with a decent light beige covering.
Nose is sticky toffee pudding, dates, sweet notes, light nutty vibes, brown sugar.
Taste comprises toffee, trace of booze, spice, toffee, dates, figs, toasted brown sugars.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Not the most complex but a well constructed barley wine. mcberko (18949) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 10, 2014
On tap at Widmer, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of dark fruit and heap loads of caramel. Flavour is sugary but not cloying, with brown sugar, candied dark fruits and toffee. A decent hop blast to this too. Very nicely balanced and constructed. Very good. Bottle at PBFX. Vintage 2013. Amber color, small off-white head. Sweetness, rye and piney hops in the nose. Medium-bodied. Quite light for abv. Piney, ryeish and caramel. Simple, even harsh. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 11, 2012

Nice perfumey aroma. Light palate for its strength. Sweet malty body, but almost thinish. Does work as a sipper, but it’s so light you want to drink it more like a weaker beer. Caramelly and toffee finish.
Bottle @ home. Amber in color with a small, short lived white head. Sweet, malty nose of caramel and toffee. A little bit of citrus rind and orange marmalade. Flavor is really sweet and sugary. Lots of caramel, sweet tea, and dried flowers. A light bitterness on the finish. Meh. Ferris (16495) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 18, 2015
Draft - Vintage 2012 - Sweet caramel, nutty notes and butterscotch. Clear gold with a decent beige head. Caramel, raisin and a dry finish. Not bad. bhensonb (15751) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Bottle (’12) from the Vacaville BevMo. Pours ruddy copper with a 3 finger light beige creamy head. Aroma is earthy/floral over a substantial roast malt. Near full bodied. Flavor is very earthy, arguably floral, maybe a hint of citrus? maybe not. It’s quite balanced. Heat is detectable in the gullet - unless that light burn is from hop. Finishes on the bitter side for me, but arguably less than dry. Nice drink. Could sub for a DIPA when fresh. djd07 (15543) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 28, 2013
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a paperthin off white head that diminshes to nothing. The aroma is booze oak and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and light booze, not much going on with this one. Ratman197 (15354) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 2, 2013
Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of sherry, carmel, toffee, fruittiness and light spice. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of sherry, toffee, light carmel and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering sherry finish.
