It pours a dark amber with a white head that produces a fair amount of lacing. It has aromas of dried fruits, plums, caramel, and bread malts. The initial flavors are a heavy plum flavor. There are also elements of vanilla, sweet dried fruits, and a not so bitter effect on the palate. There is a bit of higher than normal carbonation. j.hi (33) - - JUN 22, 2017
Like Barley Wines. This is a very good one. Lies heavy. Foggy appearance. Few small bubbles that are slow to rise because of thickness of brew. Light Carmel color nice Carmel-porter mix of taste. Last sooo long on the tongue and in the mouth. Only need to drink every ounce in a while. Smooth and high alcohol.

Golden bronze color, a touch of ruby. Light creamy white head. The aroma is faint as is the flavor, no mistaking the gravity though with a nice hop bite followed by the alcohol. Nice mix of aroma balanced between the malts. Definately feel the alcohol, but not necissarily taste it. The aroma really developes in this one as it goes on. 7/19/08 On draught at the Brewpub. Aroma is rich with caramel, raspberry, watermelon, molasses and a candy character similar to airheads. Appearance is clear copper with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is rich, candy sweet with light alcohol and even lighter watermelon. Mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy, slightly warm, with a very low carb texture. Overall, very good, and with great sweet complexity. dwyerpg (6496) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - SEP 24, 2012
Not all that much in the aroma for a barley wine. Maybe some honey, but not really molasses. I really love this style but as usual I just don’t think these guys make beer that’s all that great. This a low barley wine score for me.

A - Pours an almost clear amber-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of grapefruit, pineapple, tropical, and floral hops with sweet caramel and biscuit malts with a bit of booze.
T - Starts off with some grapefruit, pineapple, tropical and citrus hops with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some resiny pine and floral hops come through with some more bitterness and some sweet biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit, pine, and grassy hops, bitterness, sweet caramel and bready malts, and some booze.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, bitter, and warming finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice hoppy barleywine. Good overall balance and body. Good hop profile. Wittales (884) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 3, 2012
Appearance was clear red honey caramel with creamy diminishing off white 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet caramel, honey, toffee malts with deep fruits, alcohol hidden well. Taste are sweet caramel, honey toffee malts, then cherry, plum, hints of pine, spices, and grass. Palate was silky creamy CO2 with meduim-full body, then long clean sweet(touch cloying) warming smooth finish. A wonderful Barrywine, might age well. mnoud (318) - Martinsburg, West Virginia, USA - MAR 9, 2013

Aroma: very nice balance of hops and sweetness.
Appearance: Pours around 14 on SRM scale. Fairly light for barley wine, lighter than Newcastle Brown maybe. Very vigorous head/carbonation, 1-2 inch head, sticky white.
Taste: very nice. I don't even know how to describe. Good balance of hops and malty sweetness. I pretty much slammed this bottle, I'm reviewing as there is literally one drink left. Very tasty, good hop flavor without hops in your face.
Aroma 8/10, Appearance 4/5, Taste 8/10, Palate 4/5, Overall 16/20
