Bottle. Taste has a bit of everything, thick malt, hops, charred wood and hay, with a nice blend of booze tossed in. Nice. ben4321 (6500) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 16, 2013

Aroma: The nose has a nice hop presence, some floral/earth, pine, wood, and caramel/toffee notes as well
Appearance: This one pours a mostly clear golden color with a smallish head and light lace
Flavor: The is fairly heavy malt flavored as well as fairly bitter with a bit of boozy flavor to it also
Palate: This one has a fairly full body, creamy and thick, medium heat, and a somewhat dry finish
Solid stuff overall. Fairly big across the board with lots of malt flavors, hop flavors, and some booze. Pretty good stuff. Leans almost toward the DIPA direction.
Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of sherry, carmel, toffee, fruittiness and light spice. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of sherry, toffee, light carmel and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering sherry finish. Beerandhockey8 (403) - Three Forks, Montana, USA - AUG 10, 2013
From 22oz bottle to shaker. Por is a caramel color, slightly transparent with thick beige head. Aroma is unique, smelling candy-ish and sweet, tons of malt, alcohol. Taste is bitter, very heavy and complex body. This beer finishes with a bite of alcohol here, lingers for a while. Nice heavy beer. madmitch76 (24785) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 6, 2013

Hazy deep amber beer, good off white head. Palate starts smooth but has a minerally crisp edge. Nice creamy malt base, rich but not heavy. Caramel and a trace of toffee. Good balance of orange pine hops. Mild aniseed. Creamy finish with a mellow bitter pine linger. Nice balance.
650 ml bottle dated 19 July 2012. Pours a nice looking reddish copper color with a small white head that has poor retention and soon fades to a splotchy film. The aroma is strong with apricots, sherry, toffee and floral-ish hops. The taste is malts forward with caramel, toffee, sherry, bitter cedar, and some mixed apricots and mangoes. The palate was just a bit thinner than I would prefer(but it seemed to work) and the carbonation was soft. Finished a tad short . Overall: Very tasty barley wine. I really love big beers, but I was not so much in love with this one... I have aged this for a year, but was a bit disappointed in the flavor and aroma. Still enjoyed it... but I expected more... BeerandBlues2 (13303) - Escondido, California, USA - FEB 2, 2014
Tap at Roasthouse Pub. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel and toffee malt, earthy and spicy hops, peppery alcohol, dates and candied fruits. Flavor is sweet malt, medium alcohol, fruity esters, medium hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation. puboflyons (3431) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - APR 20, 2014
From the 650 ml. bottle dated July 19, 2012. Almost two years old. I opened this as my 2014 Easter beer. The pour is deep mahogany amber and reddish hue with a lasting off-white head. The aroma is full of barley malts, dark fruit-like characters, molasses, and sweetness. It still smells like it has some of its 10.2% ABV punch after two years. The body is medium and relatively smooth. The taste goes right to my head in no time with its sweet barley malt character and modest bitterness at the end. After two years the alcohol is not entirely integrated but it is also unoffensive. CloakedDagger (2481) - - DEC 12, 2014
Bottle 65 cl. Vintage 2013, "Featuring X-431 Hops" - whatever that is. Pours amber with a slight haze and an off-white head. Oxidized biscuity malts in the nose and a honeyish touch. Rich body with lots of crystal malts but enough of hops for balance and a warming alcohol finish. Fairly solid US-style Barley Wine.
