Our brewers added fresh chopped ginger to a few select barrels of our Barrel-Aged Brrrbon ’13, an imperial version of our Brrr Seasonal Ale aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels, for this limited edition brew. The addition of ginger complements the oak, vanilla, and caramel flavors of the beer and results in a smooth winter warmer perfect for the season.

On Tap Slightly hazy light brown. Lots of Ginger in the aroma and flavor. Smooth malty and wood aged flavors. Smooth and still a little boozy.

nuplastikk (6373) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 15, 2016
Warned not to get a pull pour and rightfully so. Intense ginger. Weird. Not desirable to drink. Intense. Unique.

AirForceHops (7546) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 18, 2016
Bottle. 2013 vintage. Color is ruby in color with plenty of carbonation. Aroma is all ginger. As it warms it becomes even more overwhelming.

Dear lord in heaven. This is nothing but ginger. I can’t pick out anything other then ginger. Carbonation is smooth in a medium body. After 2 oz. I could drink anymore. Over the top ginger kills anything else that maybe in this beer.

This was a draft pour at the brewpub durning the RBSG. Poured amber with a beige head. Nose of ginger and whisky. Medium body. Mouthfeel burns either from the alcohol or ginger, or both. Flavor is mostly ginger which covers up most other flavors except maybe the bourbon. Kind of one dimensional

brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 23, 2015
On tap @ Widmer. Amber colored beer with a small khaki head. Sort of a more mild ginger aroma than I expected, but it’s there. More of a sweet caramel, brown sugar, and bourbon profile to it. There is some good spiciness to the flavor. Plenty of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Plenty of caramel and sweet dark sugars. This would probably be gross without the ginger.

DuffMan (10548) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 23, 2015
On tap @ the brewery, RBSG. Red-orange amber. Aroma of ginger and toffee. Sweet ginger clashing with sweet alcohol, scorching and raw. Unrefined, not a fan of this one.

Sledutah (7761) - Utah, USA - JUN 21, 2015

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with medium beige head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is ginger, wood, caramel. Medium mouth, strong bourbon, vanilla, caramel, light ginger, very nice.

Strykzone (7490) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 18, 2015
Sampled at Widmer. Amber brown. Some beige foam. A very fruity, complex, and bourbon aroma. First sip is so much ginger it is medicina. And chemical. Bourbon, too. Cloyingly ginger. Very hot, too. Not for me. Much discussion about this one.

arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 9, 2015
Pour on tap, dark reddish brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of big ginger, lemon, spice, some dark fruit, bourbon, oak, some earth. Taste was a mix of big ginger, grass, dark cocoa, bourbon, whiskey, oak into some spice, finishing sweet, spicy.
