Bomber. Hazy red-brown pour with a short white head leaving scattered lace. Nose is alcohol and sweet malt. Bourbon is evident from start to finish, but it’s never overpowering (I don’t care for bourbon) and really adds to this special brew. Licorice, dates, vanilla, caramel populate this heavy body. Light carbonation, the hops add a spice and resin near the finish. There is a touch of oaky umami in the middle, but it’s only a hint. long after the finish you get a stomach warmth just as you do with liquor. Drink cool at most. More drinkable than AB/DB or any of their oaked variants, would need to compare directly to LB to pick a winner.
Bottle at home, Brrrbon ’12, Grand Vinhandel. Slight hazy amber with a white head. Aroma medium+ malty (caramel, bourbon barrel, vanilla, oak). Flavor light sweet, caramel, bourbor barrel, vanilla, sour/acidic, ending dry, some alcohol. Medium body, some warming alcohol. nilsas (4047) - Bryne, NORWAY - FEB 19, 2017

Bomber, 2010 vintage. Rich caramel malt aroma with notes bourbon, vanilla and oak. Pours cloudy caramel colored with a thin white head that has little retention and lacing. Starts with caramel malt flavor with a little bit of vanilla. Finishes smooth with bourbon and oak flavors and a touch of booziness at the very end. Pretty nice winter ale.

22 oz bottle shared by Gustav. The pour is a thin caramel tinted amber with a thick bubbly egg shell colored collar. The aroma is pretty decent. There is a sweet malt and a string hop. Light vanilla and bourbon are present. There is a hint of metallic on the back end. The flavor is interesting. There is a big malt and some light hops. It’s like a subdued Bigfoot. I like it. The hops are toned down and the sweetness comes through a little more. The mouth feel is lighter and well carbonated. The aftertaste is all sweet malt, bourbon, and a hint of vanilla and oak. Interesting brew ebone1988 (1848) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JUL 2, 2016
Bottle shared with koleminer20 and Gus. 2013 vintage. Aroma is caramel, toffee, bourbon, barrel, hops. Appearance is dark red, copper brown, light tan head. Taste is very subtle. Some caramel, toffee, some earthy hops, some booze, mostly intensely subtle. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, some booze and caramel in the aftertaste. Overall, I’d say this is past it’s prime. Good, but not great. Rask0lnikov (1244) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 2, 2016
660 ml bottle as barrel aged Brrrbon ’12. Ruby brown colour. Modest white head. Hints of vanilla, hints of bourbon, hints of marzipan in the aroma. Hints of bourbon, slight taste of almonds and nuts. Slight marzipan. Slight oakiness, marzipan and bourbon in the end. Well balanced, rather medium bodied, rather medium carbonated good beer. Maakun (5344) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2016
