Let it warm up a bit and you’ll have a thick, sweet, fruity, and hoppy nectar. Very complex and nicely boozy. Finally impressed with Widmer. wilderthanyou (758) - Guelph, CANADA - NOV 27, 2011
Pours a dark hazy brown colour with a short white head. The aroma is wicked, burnt sugar, molasses, dark chocolate, pine, it’s really good. The flavour is candied fruit, chocolate, orange rind, bitter hop finish. The mouth feel is slick. All and all very enjoyable but I kind of wish I’d let it age a little longer. smith4498 (3697) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - NOV 24, 2011
Bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours dark caramel brown color with tan head. Aromas of pine, caramel, toffee and some citrus. Sweet toffee flavor with pine and citrus with moderate bitterness. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Thanks Craig. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 15, 2011
22oz bottle: pours a clear deep mahogany with a spotty-lacing froth of off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty caramel malty nose with some fresh piny hoppiness and a touch of light fruits. Starts with pretty good fullness and sweet caramel maltiness with nice balance of hoppy bitterness before a drier bittersweet finish that hides the alcohol well. A pretty true to style and enjoyable American-style barley wine. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - NOV 4, 2011
(draft @ Tap and Mallet - Rochester, NY) Dark brown pour with a thick and lasting tan head. Big fruit and hop aroma along with some mild malt notes. Flavor starts with a blast of sweet fruit followed immediately by a bitter and peppery hop flavor. Some light sweetness and fruity notes at the end with a bitter and lingering aftertaste.

(22 oz. bottle (stamped "03/14/11") from Damon’s) Pours dark ruby-brown amber with a small biege-like head. Aroma of fruity candy-sugar with underlying scents of chocolate and pine. Mouthfeel smooth, sticky. Light dabs of lacing and a light syrupy film. Tastes of candied fruit, sweet but not overly. Light chocolate sneaks into toward finish. Bitter snap in finish and bitter aftertaste. Mellow and warming. Small ABV apparency. Tasty but not too complex. Ratman197 (15624) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 14, 2011
