UPDATED: SEP 5, 2011 Bottle on Angs birthday. Toasty really more than anything else. Some toffee fruit some heat on finish. Its ok if a bit one dimensional. Finish grows. Yes a touch of toffee-ied fruit but just too toasty. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - SEP 1, 2011
Bottle marked March 14, 2011. Pours with a clear bronze to brown head body and a small off-white to tan head. Decent lace, a bit subpar on the retention. Aromas of over ripened fruits, alcohol and brandy. Tons of esters. Light tropical fruit aroma. Really sticky, caramel malt profile that’s a bit too sweet smelling for me. A bit of a bready or biscuity malt profile too. Burnt flan. Decently bitter overall, light oxidation already (papery). A bit astringent and dry in the finish that leads to an even more bitter perception. A nice tropical fruit hoppy note, but that is the only saving grace of this beer. Burnt caramel/flan. Sweet, sugary. Not super pleasant.
Syrupy mouthfeel, light bubbles. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - AUG 30, 2011
22 oz. bottle from Total Wine - Pours a clear deep mahogany color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, esters, and light spice. Flavor is much of the same. The hops and esters linger in the finish. Medium to full body. A very nice BW. thornecb (5949) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 7, 2011
Pours clear, dark orange-tinged amber, Off-white head quickly recedes to mottle surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Sweet caramel and hot resin upfront turning to a last pine finish. marcus (10333) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 6, 2011
Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pors cloudy copper with a modest off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a dry bitter toffee flavor with a burnt candi sugar finish. This is certainly not a typical barleywine as it has very little sweetness, but there is an interesting blend of tastes.

Bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity hops and malts, some currants, pine. The flavor is a rich BW: sweet robust hops, pine and some toffee, lingering bitterness, vanilla, sweet and bitter. Very nice. obguthr (6433) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Cedar aroma with light cherry and caramel notes. Clear chestnut, medium yellow head. Flavor is as woody as the aroma, if not more. Grapefruit peel also present. Alcohol noticeable. NIcely done, very approachable. dwyerpg (6217) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Looks nice; smells strongly of molasses and malts. This is a pretty decent beer. Some sweetness but not too much. Not all thick or sugary; quite nice. Just a tad pricey. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 17, 2011
Bottle. Dark copper. I’m not picking up a lot of aroma. Nice dry hopped flavour. Woody with a hint of spruce. Like a very dry IIPA. anders37 (26699) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUL 13, 2011
