Bottle. Rich amber beer with a cream colored head. Sumemr fruit and light caramel aroma. Caramel and sumemr fruit flavor with light pine and light grapefruit. Medium-plus bodied. Summer fruit and grapefruit lingers with caramel and light pine. badgerben (5397) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Ruby brown color with a small head. Sugary fruit aroma. Sweet mixed berries. Flavor veers to nearly burnt sugar, strong fruits (maybe a cherry/blackberry type mix). Light caramel. Moderate bitterness. Kind of dry. For being a 9 month old hop-forward barleywine, this is still remarkably hoppy. Dorwart (2625) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - JUN 9, 2012
Nice strong 1 inch thick head of fine, light tan bubbles. Strong malty aroma with caramel, mint, roasted grains and some fruit punch kind of like it likens to in the description. Color is a hazy dark brown. Nice smooth malts up front with lots more caramel, toffee, roasted grains and some tea leaves and herbal hops flavors late swallow. The large malt content balances out the bitterness nicely. Lingering herbal bitterness late finish that is a little bit dry and chalky. This brew says it was relesed in spring of 2011. First time seeing this was spring 2012. The hops appear to have diminished over the past year but still a very solid barleywine. ration (2307) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 25, 2012
250712. Bottle at hotel in Las Vegas. Aroma hops, plums. Sweet ripe fruit in the taste. Full bodied. Not Bad. DoublEE (781) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2012
A very well balanced, yet aggressivel hopped American Barleywine, this is a very enjoyable brew. The flavor of the early yeast is exceptional, and all the more enjoyable because of the way the hops use it to finish. If you enjoy a hoppy American barleywine, you won’t go wrong giving this one a try.

Christmas tasting at the Kernel. Can’t remember who brought this because I was a bit trollied - but Cheers. Took awhile to catch up with this one. Hazy amber beer, little off white head. Light dry palate. Creamy caramel malt , sweetish. Lovely Galaxy hops. Sweet piney tropical fruits with pineapple and mango. Very nice!
bottle @ Jockey Club, Las Vegas. clear dark amber. aroma of plums, dark fruits. malty, sweet, dark fruit flavor. superspak (6508) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - DEC 12, 2013
22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 3/14/2011. Pours very hazy dark ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big raisin, orange zest, pineapple, grapefruit, caramel, toast, toffee, candi sugar, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and hop notes; with good strength. Taste of raisin, grapefruit, orange zest, pineapple, caramel, toast, toffee, floral, pine, grass, candi sugar, biscuit, and floral earthiness. Slight pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, citrus, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, light pine, candi sugar, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of malt and hop flavors; with a great hop/malt balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a moderately slick, smooth, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice barleywine style. All around good complexity and balance of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering. Bottle, shared with Robbie. Tawny amber with a soft golden head. Sweet toffee malts, chewy, with a light kiss of fruity hops and moderate bitterness in balance. A really lovely barley wine.
