COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited Release #4. Spring 2011. Ale brew with huskless malt and Belgian candy sugar. Galaxy Hopped Barleywine is a new take on an old favorite. This beer pours a dark crimson, almost mahogany color. The yeast & galaxy hops deliver a big bang of red and yellow fruit aromatics like banana, pineapple, cherry, and strawberry. The experience begins with a taste of toffee and darkened sweet caramel overlaid on subtle tones of vanilla. All to be punctuated by the floral and citrus dry hop character.

22oz bottle in a tumbler. Pours brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, light on brown sugar, and strong pine/citrus hops. Flavor about the same, and nice and smooth followed by some good hops. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

Bottle with Andrew and Carla. Pours ruby red with off-white foam. Smells bitter and sweet. The taste reminds me of grapefruit, but actually tastes very sweet and fades into a pine-like bitterness.

Brown pour, off white head. Aroma of brown sugar, some piney hops, light caramel, and fruitcake notes. Flavor is lightly sweet, finishes bitter, good caramel/toffee in the middle. Not bad at all.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is quite hoppy, with a lot of pine and orange citrus notes, as well as quite a bit of toffee and caramel malt. The flavor is similar, with the pine and orange citrus notes from the hops coming through nicely. There is also a little bit of sweetness from the caramel malt, and the bitterness is fairly low. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

English style barleywine. Lots of hard ribbon cand.y. Carmel. Didnt get any strong hops as the name implies. Decent stuff
