Pours clear, dark orange-tinged amber, Off-white head quickly recedes to mottle surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Sweet caramel and hot resin upfront turning to a last pine finish. TreborWhip (393) - Reading, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Bottle pours mahogany with thin tan head. Sweet, hoppy aroma. Initial flavor is sweet, like vanilla toffee, the fruitiness of pineapple and cherries, ending with pleasant hoppiness. LTD release #4, Spring 2011.

oak, bitters, alcohol hard to pull the aroma apart but I like it. clear dark amber with persistent off white head.. well balanced flavors with what I thought might turn metallic lsightly mitigated by an apricottish sweet. the thinness in the mouth also spread the flavor out while leaving the dichotomy of an irking bitterness and a borderline cloying sweetness. the finish reflects this. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - NOV 4, 2011
(draft @ Tap and Mallet - Rochester, NY) Dark brown pour with a thick and lasting tan head. Big fruit and hop aroma along with some mild malt notes. Flavor starts with a blast of sweet fruit followed immediately by a bitter and peppery hop flavor. Some light sweetness and fruity notes at the end with a bitter and lingering aftertaste. Pours a clear dark golden/amber color. Aroma is of malts, lactic, toffee, leafy hops, and a little nuttyness. Flavor is of malts, some chocolate, caramel, hops, and a little lactic. Leaves a malty caramel finish. Just a little too carbonated for my liking. Johnsense (1734) - - JAN 16, 2012
Brownish pour, fairly reasonable head. Straks of lacing. Booze and dried fruit in the aroma - Bittersweet probably sums it up best. Banana, Candied fruit, plum, alcohol, Malty, bitterness from the Galaxy hops. A little over carbonated. - Fairly good. Marsiblursi (3076) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 26, 2012
(Bottle) Pours deep reddish brown with hints of orange. Sand coloured head. The aroma holds resinous hops and dry caramel up front with undertones of herbs, spices, flowers, bread, nuts, woodsy citrus and raisins. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of caramel, nuts, bread, resin, wood, flowers, grass, herbs, spices and some fruits. The mouthfeel is clean and soft with a light to medium carbonation. Light fiery, balanced hoppy and malty finish. Medium bodied. bluejacket74 (1993) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - NOV 12, 2012
22 ounce bottle, bottled on March 14, 2011 (printed on label). Served in a snifter, the beer pours a dark chestnut brown color with about an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is sweet and malty, the brew smells like candy sugar, dark fruit (raisins, figs, cherries), bready malt, caramel, and some citrusy hops and booze. It tastes like bready malt, candy sugar, dark fruit (figs, raisins), caramel, toffee and a little bit of candied oranges. However, I think it smells better than it tastes. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick but it’s also thin for a barleywine. Moderate carbonation. It’s a solid enough brew, but there are a lot of other barleywines I like better. With that being said, it’s worth trying. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 25, 2012
