22 oz. bottle- Pours hazy dark ruby red with a small tan head that reduces to a collar. Aroma is alcohol, rum, wood, vanilla, molasses, sweet and intense. The taste is creamy and smooth, alcohol warmth similar to when you drink rum, cocoa, vanilla, molasses. Body is full, carbonation is low, it leaves your mouth with this sweet velvety feeling, I love it.This is a great after dinner treat, wonderfully complex and inviting, one of the better Widmer beers I have had. The aroma is sweet and syrupy with caramel, molasses, grassy hops, and spices rum. The appearance is deep amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma with a buttery and papery finish. Bomber poured a hazy reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, brown sdugar, futtiness, light rum and a hint of wood. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, brown sugar, dark fruit and light rum with a smoth lingeing carmel finish.

Pours a thin, fizzy, short lived ivory head over a clear reddish brown (SRM 20) body.......nose is molasses, plum, raisin, toffee/caramel, alcohol, hints of cocoa.....taste is sweet, with light plum, raisin, vanilla, rum, terpene....mouth feel light, alcohol burn present, carbonation low. This is very unbalanced, with the rum barrels and the alcohol dominating the other ingredients leading to minimal complexity in both aroma and flavor, finishing with a harsh alcohol burn. Tap, Amsterdam Cafe, San Francisco, 15/08/12. Ruby slicked with off-white. Hints of fig, fudge and cinder toffee aroma. Bloodsy redcurrant and licked brass notes; some brown sugar. Lacks flavour, but not heat. Comedown after the Scarface.
