22oz bottle. Clear amber/brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of sugary malt, dark fruit, toffee, alcohol and some leather. Flavor is sweet and sugary with warming alcohol, toffee and fruity yeast esters. Medium to light body with a thin mouth feel. Not a bad beer but just kind of thin and alcoholic.

Pours a murky brown with a billowy tan head. Aroma is hazelnut and mtallic caramel. Taste is sweet caramel. Full bodied, muted carbonation. Really smooth. Molasses, coffee, oak. Light, bitter booziness in the finish. Solid.

Great tasting Ale. Dose not have strong after taste. I think this would go great with a steak. Good times!

DocJitsu (1995) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2013
Pours an amber-golden with a light tan head. Banana aroma. Soft cottony mouthfeel. Tastes like Christmas pull candy. Sweet and savory.

Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - AUG 18, 2013
Brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has some strong toffee, caramel and nut notes. The flavor is a bit different. I get some strong caramel, light smoke, maple, brown sugar and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle was a gusher. Pours a hazy brown with fluffy tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma of sweet molasses, caramel, toffee, toasted barley, and a hint of booze. Taste follows, but no real booze burn at all. Nice, nothing awesome, but solid.

msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2013
On tap at Independent Ale House. Pours clear reddish brown with small head. Aromas of molasses, caramel, earthy malts, and light coffee sweetness. Flavors lighter earthy malts, molasses, toffee, light nuttiness, bit of wood. Almost comes off like a dopplebock versus a brown ale. Dangerously drinkable for such a big ABV beer.

Sweet molasses finish. Reminiscent of Lagunitas. Probably too exotic for daily use. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear red - brown beer with a good pale tan head. Smooth palate, dry. Smooth malt, trace of caramel. Belgian like Coca Cola flavour. Traces of marmite and raisin. Dry finish, with a little spice.
