Clear red - brown beer with a good pale tan head. Smooth palate, dry. Smooth malt, trace of caramel. Belgian like Coca Cola flavour. Traces of marmite and raisin. Dry finish, with a little spice.

Draft, courtesy of staff at ChurchKey, thanks! Clear dark maroon color. Aroma of caramel and subtle licorice. Taste is lightly spiced and slightly boozy caramel.

Keg at the taproom, PDX, 08/11/14. Lightly hazed amber with a moderate beige covering. Nose is light booze, rum, toffee, dark malt, spice. Taste comprises caramel, light booze, spice, dark fruit rinds, hoppy tones. Medium + body, fine carbonation, lightly warming alcohol in the close. Decent.

On tap at Widmer, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma reveals rum barrels upfront, with notes of dried dark fruit (raisins) and caramel. Flavour brings out a rum bomb, with very far back secondary notes of raisins and other dried fruit. Boozy, but well-balanced and drinkable in small amounts. Decent beer.

Hazy light amber-brown, light sugary nose, some big molasses taste, with barrelly notes. Rich, lingering complex molasses character, the alcohol just enough to cut through this. Tasty.

On tap @ Widmer. Dark amber colored pour with a thin off-white head. Nose of spicy rum and ginger with a touch of chili powder. Lots of caramel, toasted wood, and vanilla. Maybe a little sugary...slight citrus marmalade along with some dark fruits. Certainly quite sweet on the tongue, but luckily not really cloying or syrupy. Rum adds a nice but subtle spice character that cuts the sugar character a bit. Pretty decent, actually.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours pretty dark brown with a 1/4 inch beige head. Lots of rum and treacle in the aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is massively treacle with rum and some citrus and arguably pear. It burns slightly. I’m thinking this massively flavorful ale will age well. Brilliant concoction.

Draft - Sweet caramel and some raisin and plum. Cloudy copper with a decent white head. Dark sugars, caramel and a nice long brown sugar finish. Quite nice.

Bomber poured a hazy reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, brown sdugar, futtiness, light rum and a hint of wood. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, brown sugar, dark fruit and light rum with a smoth lingeing carmel finish.

Draft. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy wood, dark sugar & toasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were exceeded.
