Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins and accidentally lost in the back of my fridge for a year. Pours a very hazy dark yellow orange appearance with an off white head that doesn’t have much retention. Slightly tart, herbal grape, somewhat spicy, a bit citrusy aroma. Flavor is fairly tangy/tart with a decent amount of tropical fruits, a ton of grape juice, and some spicy herbal elements. For the age, this still tastes pretty decent.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours dark amber with an attractive beige head and a fruit and toffee aroma. There is a strange sweet fruit flavor that includes banana, grape and lemon with a dry slightly bitter finish.

Pour from a 22 oz. bottle at Microfest 2012. Pours a cloudy orange with a small off-white head. Lemon citrus and grape juice lead the way, with lemongrass and other fresh herbs, wheat, caramel malts, and a woody note. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, wheaty, juicy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Weird beer, but pretty tasty.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Malt and wheat aroma with light lemony citrus notes. Caramel and sweet malt flavor with lemon. Medium-plus bodied. Sweet malt and light wheat lingers with lemon and caramel.

Bomber shared by Mike, thanks man! Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium white head. An odd nose of lemongrass and fruit. The flavor is almost dominated by the white grape juice, very odd and funky, a bit thin at times, juicy and some light lemongrass. OK.

Bottle thanks to mora2000. Surprised I hadn’t rated this before. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a small white head. Aromas are floral, lemon-lime soda, honey, very sweet, artificial, lightly grainy. Flavors are metallic, wet dog, lemongrass, peppery, low citrus, honey, very sweet, chamomile, light tartness. Lively bubbles, warming, not great.

Bottle:   Orangish straw, fairly hazy, thin sudsy white head, dies quickly, leaves little lacing.   Pale wheaty nose, very slight white grape juice, lemony, but moreso a non-descript citrusy aroma.   As it warms the white grape juice becomes more pronounced.   Interesting nose.   Strong sweet grassiness on the tongue, a bit lemony, again with the white grape juice.   Warming, but not alcoholic.   Wheatiness is minor.   Had I had this blind, I wouldnt know what to make of it... probably a spiced like beer.   Yeah, more of a spiced beverage than a Wheat Ale.   Needs some more body, wheatiness.   Its okay, hides the 9% ABV very well.   However, not something I would probably go after again.

Babyfood pear aroma with hints of cayenne pepper. My son called it a really weird Texas Pete smell. Clear amber, headless. Whole overripe orange flavor with hints of sage. Lemongrass appears toward the end. Ends with a peppery bite, again like hot sauce. Full bodied, a bit too sweet. I’m trying not to show a bias against Widmer and imagined this being another one of Dogfish Head’s "off-centered ales", but I didn’t find much enjoyment in it.
