COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An extremely rich and complex beer. The addition of raspberries during the fermentation process results in an almost purplish opaque color with a beautiful brown head. Warm chocolate and roasty notes compliment the hop bitterness.

Pours dark with a tan head. Slight raspberry aroma. Don’t taste the raspberry much, a slight sweetness into the mouth. Tart with. Fair amount of bitterness on the swallow. Expected a bit more sweetness. Just OK. Doesn’t stand out for me. Don’t think I’d go out of my way for another.

Bottle. Darkest brown, dark brown head. Brilliant chocolate mousse nose, lovely! Medium light mellow mouthfeel. Light oxidized roast and chocolate, light cardboard and wood, don't get much berry, chocolate milk finish, hint berry retronasal.

Black with little brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, lacto, rasins, some flowery stuff. Taste is dry dark chocolate, with sweet and sour raspberries. Quite balanced. I love raspberries. Quite smooth. A bit too alcoholic for drinkability. Nice.

Bottle. Pours dark brown. Nose is very raspberries, chocolate, coffee. Palate is less exiting, raspberry is almost not there. Typical 08/15 imperial stout apart from the nose.

Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting. Pours black. Aroma is raspberry over chocolate and coffee. Body is heavy, strongly burnt, roasted, quite sweet but mostly bitter. A really dark beer. Good.

(bottle) deep brown-black in colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of raspberry schnaps and grass, slightly green and metallic, with a hint of yeast, some toasted malts and cashews. flavour is mostly raspberries and toasted grain, slightly smoky and rather ethanolic, with a touch of bran flakes with milk, toffee and a rather dry light roasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

My Bottom Line:
This liquid dessert juxtaposes sweet chocolate, raspberry jam and cough syrup in a thick mouthfeel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the brown-hued black.
-The cougy syrup allusions are too medicinal to my liking.
-Alcohol heat is prominent.
-The flavour profile is tad rough.
-This is too sweet for me to truly enjoy it, but it will have be appreciated by those in the mood for sugar and decadence.

Bottle.

Dark brown, with hints of orange when held to the light. color with a moderately sized tan head. Caramel to toasted malt scents. Some light fruit, but not really any raspberry detected. Sweeter start, leading to some roasted malt. Ashy middle. Bit of a burn in the back of the throat. Raspberries come out in the finish and linger along with more roasted malt and dark chocolate. 3/12

2013 edition. Pours deep red - decidedly not black for an RIS. Good head. Aroma of chocolate, raspberry, molasses. Taste is similar. The raspberry really stands out, and is quite pleasant. Lots of chocolate in the finish, too. Doesn’t have the overwhelming sensory blast of a typical RIS, but I’m happy about that, it lets the raspberry stand out. Glad I drank it.
