From a bottle poured a dark brown color with a small amount of head. Sweet spicy malty flavor with a lingering finish. nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - NOV 11, 2012
The aroma is sweet and chocolaty with toasted malt, peppers, and nuts. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a sight bit of heat. The palate is smooth. Overall not great but very decent. Palidor19 (3193) - Brandon, Florida, USA - NOV 11, 2012
It's very malty with a bit of nuttiness. Has a tea like flavor with a soft palate and it packs a punch.

On tap at Whole Foods, Santa Rosa taproom. I am a chile fan so I enjoyed this. Lots of heat in the finish. Creamy. Roasty aroma. Koskela (505) - Marysville, California, USA - NOV 9, 2012
I smell the nutty chocolate flavor but not much of it nor anything else. The color is a dark brown color with a white head. A full bodied chocolately nutty flavor. Almost like a chocolate milk flavor. You can taste the alcohol flavor a bit anf its a bit bitter and almost spicy (hot) on the after taste. Overall its worth a try. A good beer

Nice appearance of ebony with reddish hues...nice creamy head. Aromas of spices, chocolate. BIG flavor up front. Velvety sweetness, molasses, brown sugar, and roasted malt. As it finishes, spices evolve and finish nicely with sweetness and coffee notes. Outstanding...would pair nicely with a sweet dessert. User209050 (21) - - NOV 4, 2012
Aroma is cocoa with hints of spices and pepper. Malt is clearly dark chocolate with hints of roastiness.
Appearance is Jet Black black, black, black, black, cloudy, frothy, Its got a stout appearance but taste of a dark ale.
Taste is unique: Strong pepper brought on by the chilis coupled with chocolate. Can not taste the pecans but there is limited hoppiness its mostly a malty ale so really limited to no bitterness.
Palate: This is a full bodied beer with some alcohol undertones and a long chocolate finish.
I really have enjoyed this beer and this was the first time I have tried it on tap. Normally able to find it in 22% Bottle (Nicely boxed). Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Sample at World Of Beer. Pours a dark reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted nuts, chocolate and spice. Medium to full body with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and spices. The finish is sweet cocoa and spices. Pretty good overall. bhensonb (15621) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bomber, probably from BevMo or Total Wine. Pours very dark brown with a slight fizzy tan head - didn’t last long. Aroma is chilies for me. Mild over a hint of chocolate. Near full bodied. Flavor is very chilies, but the toasted pecans are very noticeable. So where’s the chocolate? Gotta lose the pecans first. Where’s the cinnamon? Probably lost in the chilies. Pretty different beer. Good. Maybe just a bit challenging. Arguably complex. Confuses me a bit anyway. rodisian (66) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Overall a fantastic beer. Looked and smelled great (especially as it warmed up in the glass). Silky smooth on the palate, soft spices, and a lingering chocolate taste on the finish. On tap at Plan B.
