pours clear dark brown, red tint, with a low light beige head, little retention. hazelnuts and pecans, toasted ones, some caramel and tobacco, very nutty, chiles, shy chocolate notes - more in the malt bill, roasted vegetables. very hint of acidity. hint of sweetness. soft carbonation, light body - almost feels watery, lightly boozy, earthy and peppery-chili finish. good dosage of spice/nuts and all. it is a relatively complex brew but mainly due to its components - malt bill is rather poor but still somewhat supportive. o-k. Rasin, pecan, very nutty of course, you can taste the spices. very dark but you can see a hit of light through the glass. You can taste the coca, very complex beer, maybe too complex. Strykzone (7357) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 8, 2013

22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, some spices, peppers, and light bitterness. Flavor about the same. Average to smooth texture. An interesting beer that is better than a lot of spiced/pepper beers. reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2013
Pours deep brown/ruby with very little head. Aroma has cocoa and light vegetal notes. Flavor amps up the cocoa...almost dark chocolate...mild vegetal pepper notes. Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is roasty dark chocolate with a nice peppery burn.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin tan head that fades very quickly and a very nice violet and ruby tint. Aroma of chocolate, more chocolate and bunches of earth, peat and roasted malt. Full-bodied; Strong chocolate flavour with a lot of malt, definite chile flavour and heat, some light coffee and spices and a hint of burnt nuts. Aftertaste is quite complex with the spices touching a little bit, but the taste is mainly around the chocolate, malt and chile mixed with a great big body and bunches of alcohol. Overall, a nice beer that holds true to the writing on the front and a pleasant tasting - not my favourite beer and one that I couldn’t drink all the time, but a nice beer. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington, DC (Logan Circle / P St NW) on 06-October-2012 for US$12.99 sampled at home in Washington on 25-March-2013. ansalon (3845) - Stockholm, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2013
Aroma is spectacular with cocoa, pecans, raisins and dates. Taste does not live up to the aroma with subdued colors of caramel, honey, pecans and cocoa.

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of green chilies, cocoa, cinnamon and earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, cocoa, green chilies and cinnamon with a crisp dry lingering green chilie finish. drfabulous (7943) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Draught at Freakin Frog. Malty dark pour. I didn’t get all these ingredients listed here, but thought it was a poor man’s Parabola of sorts. Creamy. Chocolate.
