Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and a little crisp and dry. Mild sweet creamy malt. Mild minerals. A little chocolate and a trace of nuts. The chilli kicks in late and is nicely judged. Builds in heat but never overwhelms. Light fruit before an airy finish. Nicely joined up and interesting.

Dark brown color with small head. Aroma of beans, salad, green chili, hint of tobacco. Caramel flavor, missing a better malt depth, sweetish, with some chocolate, very low bitterness.
Keg at Widmer brewpub, PDX, 08/11/14.
Black with a decent tan swirl and edgeing.
Nose is light roast, chocolate, spice, cocoa rinds, toffee.
Taste comprises earthy tones, roast malt, light chilli scrub, chocolate, green pepper, dark malt, molasses.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a little warming booze.
Decent well balanced Imperial stout/porter - chilli effect is restrained.
NO - hit the panic button and make this a Spice Herb Veg, it’s got to be, a Spice or a Herb or a Veg has been mentioned in the description. No - as you were this is an imperial stout/porter with a subtle chilli touch. mcberko (17830) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 3, 2015
650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out a good mix of chilis, cocoa and cinnamon. Flavour brings out loads of cocoa upfront, with light chili spiciness, a touch of cinnamon, and more cocoa. Quite a cohesive mix of flavours, with the cocoa shining. Very pleasant stuff. Nutty brown, a light head. Aroma has some light nuttiness, a hit of caramel, and a light molasses. Sweet up front and a blast of beer. Has a bit of alcohol late, along with syrup and brown sugar. A bit on the thin side.

Pours a dark amber pour with an off-white head. Excellent dark chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel malt sweetness. A hint of toasted nuts, some very faint chili notes, and a nice roasted malt aroma. The flavor has a slight spice of chili to it, but otherwise good chocolate, coffee, and nuts. Toasted malt, caramel, and a light roast character. Good balance of sweetness and roast. Bottle - Cocoa and chocolate and toffee. Cloudy brown with a decent beige head. Caramel and cocoa with a candy bar like finish. Decent. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bomber, probably from BevMo or Total Wine. Pours very dark brown with a slight fizzy tan head - didn’t last long. Aroma is chilies for me. Mild over a hint of chocolate. Near full bodied. Flavor is very chilies, but the toasted pecans are very noticeable. So where’s the chocolate? Gotta lose the pecans first. Where’s the cinnamon? Probably lost in the chilies. Pretty different beer. Good. Maybe just a bit challenging. Arguably complex. Confuses me a bit anyway. Ratman197 (14834) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of green chilies, cocoa, cinnamon and earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, cocoa, green chilies and cinnamon with a crisp dry lingering green chilie finish. Tmoney99 (14481) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Tap. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted sweet chocolate malt, nuts and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet & hot flavor with a medium hot & sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where exceeded.
