A deep rich brown. Rich chocolate on the nose with a twinkle of spice kinda like a mole, but with a light, dry nutty pecan note that pairs very well. So slick, perfectly balanced sweetness and a delightful airy pecan pie finish that lasts for ages. poisoneddwarf (2639) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Bomber. Pours dark dark brown with reddish tints and a medium collapsing beige head that leaves a ring of foam around the edge. Aroma consists of doughy bread, chocolate milk, chilies, cinnamon. Taste is lightly sweet and finishes with a slight spicy burn. The pecans, chilies, and chocolate nibs all come through fairly strong. Mouthfeel is creamy and the carbonation is softer than expected. Nice and experimental, the way I like them (some). sawbuck (762) - Round Lake, Illinois, USA - NOV 7, 2012
Nice appearance of ebony with reddish hues...nice creamy head. Aromas of spices, chocolate. BIG flavor up front. Velvety sweetness, molasses, brown sugar, and roasted malt. As it finishes, spices evolve and finish nicely with sweetness and coffee notes. Outstanding...would pair nicely with a sweet dessert. youdictategood (467) - Florida, USA - DEC 9, 2012
Draft to snifter. Clear brown pour with a thin offwhite head. Aroma of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, a little black pepper. Tastes like a coffee stout to start, then gets a little spicy, both cinnamon and pepper. Definitely get the ABV kick at the end. Pretty viscous mouthfeel. Would definitely seek this out again, really interesting beer. thechandler (593) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - SEP 21, 2013
Pours a dark cola brown, similar to a brown ale. Very aromatic. Full of nut and cocoa notes. Very sweet. Flavor is bright and rich. Lots of cocoa, but not too bitter. Finishes sweet and spicy with Cayenne pepper notes. Drinking a bottle leaves a nice beer buzz plus a little endorphin rush from the peppers.Very good.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle after cellaring for a bit over 2 years.
Near black with a slight ruby tinge, a thin tan head and good lacing.
Aroma of plums, dark fruit, pecans, chocolate, raspberries, caramel and licorice.
Taste of roasted malt, dark fruit, chipotle peppers, raspberries, chocolate, licorice and caramel.
Medium/full body and medium/high carbonization.
A very complex and delicious beer that clearly appreciated the aging. The chilies add interest without overwhelming.

9 oz draft - pours dark black, opaque with faint brown highlights. Small tan white head, mostly diminishing. Aromas of cocoa, rich malt, chocolate, coffee and smoke. Rich, full medium body with bit of a hoppy burn on the finish. Plums, dates, slight raisin note on the end. A treat. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 15, 2012

Pours a deep, rich mahogany with a nose of nutty chocolate and cocoa dust with notes of light pecan and coffee. Flavor is fudgy chocolate, light pepper with cinammon dusting, and a touch of coffee-flavored caramel toffee. Thick mouthfeel. This is a good beer; a very good beer.
on draft at Spacebar in Falls Church, VA. Pours almost black with a thin tan head. Coffee notes in the nose. Complex flavors of chocolate, nuts and chilies. Spicy bitter finish. A really special beer. Wittales (884) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 26, 2012
Appearance was clear deep brown with diminishing creamy tannish tiny 1/2 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet caramel, toffee, coffee, nutty spicey hops with hints of chilis, mild alcohol nose. Taste was deep toffee, coffee ,brown sugar, chocolate malts with spicey hop bite and mild chili backend. Palate was smooth soft creamy CO2 with full body, then long malty chocolate, coffee, toffee chili wonderful warming sipping finish. Love this amazing brew of...
