With Z, pours a brown birch colored color with a small head. Nose is full of bourbon with vanilla in the background. Taste is very smooth with nice sweet bourbon notes mixed with vanilla bean and oak. Finish is very smooth, sweet and ends on the same tasting notes with a moderately long finish. Pours a muddy copper brown with a tan head and sweet aroma of bourbon and slight vanilla. Taste is smooth, nice strong bourbon notes with vanilla, caramel, and oak into the warming finish. monk191 (1959) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 8, 2015
A very good variation on their bourbon barrel beer. Pours a muddy brown with little head. Smells of vanilla and bourbon. Taste is bourbon and vanilla upfront, with some mint and a slightly empty finish. A lot upfront, not as much in the backend. Had in the bottle at Piachi Pub and Pizzaria. bgold86 (35) - - APR 1, 2015
Not bad for the price, not enough bourbon and vail though...solid but will not repeat, way too many beers to be had.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. The aroma is filled with bourbon, burnt sugar, fruity alcohol, toffee. The flavor is sweet vanilla, caramelized sugar, oak. The high ABV is warming. Finishes dry. bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 18, 2015
Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Caramel and light bourbon aroma. Bourbon and vanilla flavor. Medium bodied. Vanilla and light oak linger with bourbon and rich malt. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 16, 2015
Taster at Jungle Jim’s Barrel-Aged Beer Bash 2015. Mildly hazy orange amber color. Thin off-white kind of bubbly head, few bits of lace. Bigger citrusy hop up front in the nose, that’s kind of surprising. West-coast DIPA level of citrusy hop, kind of piney and spicy, wasn’t expecting that at all. Just a touch of vanilla on the backend, more noticeable as it warms. Bigger bitterness, mild to moderate sweet taste, kind of dry. Bigger body. Kind of soft tingly sort of crisp lighter carbonation, light slick mouthfeel but drying in the finish. Interesting stuff. Surprisingly hoppy, especially for a 2013 vintage (indicated). Reminds me of some ba’d DIPAs I’ve tried. Would have probably gotten better if I gave it time to warm. Theydon_Bois (19200) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2015
