Pours a beautiful clear chestnut with a fairly thick and rather fine-bubbled light tan head. Malty aroma has firm notes of bourbon-soaked wood and caramel, plus a tantalizing hint of vanilla. Oaky bourbon dominates the bold flavor while letting through hints of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and horehound. Firm, smooth texture has a good amount of fizz and leaves a woody, bourbony, slightly candy-bar finish. This will take the brrr out of chilly weather next time one of them winter storms pays a visit. jrgratz (113) - New York, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Tap at Valhalla.. Pour is a clear dark amber with a nice white fluffy head.. Not what I was expecting. Aroma is bourbon, oak, cherries. Taste is incredible.. very nice bourbon upfront with a smooth lingering vanilla bean finish. Some dark fruit and some sweetness. Soft light mouthfeel.. crisp. ABV is well hidden. Beautiful beer. Was very impressed with this one ClutchMasterson (64) - Aiea, Hawaii, USA - AUG 1, 2014
Poured at a bar when I saw this randomly. Pours a nice deep nut brown. Leaves a creamy of white thick head which didn’t fade hardly and left a nice heavy lacing. Aroma is of vanilla and light resin with notes of roasty nuts and malt. Taste is a really nice lightly sweet but roasty caramel and vanilla with a sturdy malt flavor. The back reaches you witha surprisingly balanced slight floral hop flavor with just the right amount of bitterness. A definite gem to find on draft and very enjoyable. bgold86 (35) - - APR 1, 2015
Not bad for the price, not enough bourbon and vail though...solid but will not repeat, way too many beers to be had. tysongillmore (362) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2015
Pretty sweet but not too sweet. Good oak and bourbon flavor. Surprised for being Widmer.

Bottle. Pours a dark opaque brown with tan head. Both aroma and taste consist mainly of bourbon and vanilla. A bit oaky with a very smooth finish. I love this beer; it’s expensive, but really good. Great for a special occasion or to just sit back, sip, and enjoy. EHopper (620) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 12, 2012
Wow. The bourbon is so upfront it’s hard to believe it is not, well, bourbon. A nice hint of sweetness and earthy vanilla. Only got a taste but must come back for a full tap. jjgmd (2163) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 22, 2015
With Z, pours a brown birch colored color with a small head. Nose is full of bourbon with vanilla in the background. Taste is very smooth with nice sweet bourbon notes mixed with vanilla bean and oak. Finish is very smooth, sweet and ends on the same tasting notes with a moderately long finish. On draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Clear brownish amber color. Aroma is citrus hops and bourbon. Taste is fresh vanilla bean, citrus and tropical hops, bourbon, and caramel. Hoppy and sweet are pretty balanced. zgaier (1951) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 22, 2015
Pours a muddy copper brown with a tan head and sweet aroma of bourbon and slight vanilla. Taste is smooth, nice strong bourbon notes with vanilla, caramel, and oak into the warming finish.
