Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

Fairly weak aroma of orange and malt. Clear copper with nice full white head and full lacing. Taste of dirty earth. Slight orange and malt in the background. With citrus and nice bitterness at the backend. Wonder if there is an issue with the line or age - thus does not have the bursting aspects of Falconer’s Flight when I have brewed with it.

Bottle @ 12.000 Celebration Tasting, Odense. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Lots of caramel and dusty hops. Not entirely fresh I assume. Medium bodied. Short bitter finish.

A nice amber pour with a white head. Good floral and citrus peel hops, particularly orange peel. A bit of grass, some sweet bread, and a nice pine note. The flavor has a lot of pine and floral hop notes. Nice bitterness, mild bread sweetness, and a dry finish. Orange peel, a hint of grass, and a lightly herbal quality.

0,33 l shared bottle at Cardinal. Hazy orange body with a thin white film. Raisin, dried apricots, hoppy pollen on the nose. Aromatic, light salty and bitter hop juice in the mouth and a hint of overripe cream. Full bodied with a little alco warmth. Smooth to drink.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2013 355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Orange to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Pleasant aroma of caramel, orange marmalade and fruity hops. Nice hoppy flavour throughout, but not extreme bitterness for an American IPA. Bitter enough for me, though. Sufficient malts, but not very sweet. Very drinkable.

What can be said? It’s an on style IPA. Mild aroma of ipa hops. Look is burnt orange. Taste is bitter medicine. Good sizzle for an IPA. Seems to lack the viscosity of many thicker ipa. Overall it’s pretty much on style. Not my favorite style.
