Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

Bottle. Yellow color with a white head. A soapy floral and pine aroma and does not carry any better into the finish and palate. It seems somewhat astringent and lacks some sweetness or citrus balance. The malts are a little harsh.

Erzengel (8938) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - NOV 30, 2013
Dark chestnut brown in the glass, The beer starts slightly malty and very nice hopped. The mainpart is smooth, highly drinkable, nice malt basis and very nice floral hoppy, the bitterness is also very nice and round. The aftertaste is long, slightly sweet, malty-dry and nicely floral hoppy bitter.
--> very nice maltier IPA. Not too sweet, but I think the malt-basis tends to put the floral hops a bit into the background.

esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Amber with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel, woodsy and floral hops and some bready malt. Taste is balanced with bready malt, caramel and floral hops and a mild bitter finish.

3.5
Borup (14730) - Albertslund, DENMARK - NOV 23, 2013
Sample at DØE 2013. Hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, fruit, malt and caramel.

fiulijn (20806) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 19, 2013
Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstad; marked Nov 20 12 (bottling date?)
Hazy amber color with small head. The aroma is caramel-forward, apparently sweet, with a fruity touch. Strong caramel flavor, with moderate residual sweetness; strong bitterness (although well blended in), with medium-strong resins, and bitter orange fruitiness.
Too caramelly for me, for an IPA, but a good beer overall, although it doesn’t seem very fresh.

3.5
pivnizub (10674) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - NOV 7, 2013
Bottle: Amber, hazy, small but lacy off-white head, distinctive spicy piney-hoppy nose, maybe some more exotic fruits underneath, caramel detectable; quite dry moderate bitter-sweet flavour, quite light bodied for a beer of 7.0%; dry and lingering piney-hoppy finish with traces of dark malt and the good old cough syrup, all in all a bit harsh. Not a world-class brew, but still a chunky IPA…

after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - OCT 21, 2013
22. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a scant off-white head. Big sweet pine and floral nose with soft fruit notes at the edges. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Darkly toasted caramel with some tangy fruit notes on the mid palate. Mild sweet finish.

BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - OCT 15, 2013
Pours an amber color with nice fluffy off white head. Aroma of caramel with some floral fruity notes. Hoppy but not overly so. Medium bodied with a nice clean finish. A very nice drinking beer.

3.5
Quack-Duck (9486) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2013
bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear amber colour, mid-sized, creamy white head. Full-bodied, good malty base that supports the citrusy-resiny hop flavours.

3.7
BeerBaboon (2109) - FINLAND - OCT 5, 2013
Pours copper with off-white head. Aroma is caramel, toasted, wood and fruits. Flavour is bitter, caramel, toasted, wood and citrus. Texture isa bit oily with light to medium body.
