Bottle. The pour was a medium copper orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) off white rocky head that had great retention, lasting throughout with some great sticky lacing.
The aroma was of caramel malts, floral and citrus hops and an earthy yeast with notes of caramel and grapefruit.
The taste was at first sweetly malty with a huge note of caramel and then slowly became nice and hoppy with a note of citrus (grapefruit) at the end. The flavor lasted a very long time proceeding the swallow with a good strong hoppy taste left on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was somewhere between light and medium in body and dry in texture with a prickly carbonation.
Overall an IPA that started mildly malty and a tad sweet but ended BIG in the hops department...
Amber color with a taller, ecru colored head. Nice lace. Citrus, pine and spice in the aromas. A hint of caramel in the background. Not enough malt depth for me. Seems thin in flavor for the lack of malt. Malt does show up a bit in the finish, but I still am looking for something to chew on. 3/13

12oz bottle. Hazy amber color with an off white head. Earthy, some citrus, and some bread. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 9, 2015
The head drops pretty quickly.. nice lacing ... decent cap... the brew is a hazed light amber.
Nose has a good pungent hoppiness.. grapefruit zest and pine comb.. with an interesting tropical fruity profile... odd.. the malts seem a touch too high and even show some dark toast....
Big bitterness out of the gate.. the bitter bite blows things out of the water.. citrus and something that I associate with more tropical hops.... maybe some melon... but the flavor pretty much drops into the bitterness and trails on forever... some dry toasty malt presence shows on the finish with shelf warmth.
Bitter --- hoppy --- bitter again ... seems thin with malts ... definitely one dimensional... A decent PNW IPA, but loses all the intricacies...
I doubt I will buy this one again... odd and not that good... and certainly not very enjoyable. rouhlas (3783) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - AUG 20, 2015

Ambar clara, espuma excelente. Rico aroma. Maracuyá, pomelo…Amargor lupulado, suave, cremosa. Cuerpo medio. Galleta tostada en la base, y muy lupulada, cítrica sobre todo. Final amargo semiseco. Bebible para 7º. Notable.

"eh. maybe getting old. nice-ish floral and citrus aroma, flavor shows a little more spice than expected, but the malt is too prevelant. had a nelson iipa today that was much better." Pyrmir (6210) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - SEP 12, 2014
355 ml bottle. Hazy golden with white head. Aroma is hoppy, balanced with a lot of marmalade. Taste has lots of pine, resin and marmalade SDalkoholic (2431) - Linda Vista, California, USA - JUN 30, 2014
Bottle from Henry’s: Created a thick pillow of white head while the liquid was a sparkling clear golden color. In the aroma, my nose detects a lot of usage of hop pellets that give off the scents of a oily and buttery smell combined with some pine and citrus. The flavor is smooth and has notes of light citrus and earthy green hop pellets that give a well balanced bitter taste to the rest of the ingredients, particularly the malts and water. An excellent IPA that is easily quaffable and has some flavor to back it up. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - JUN 27, 2014
12oz bottle -
A little more balance with this beer than the previous X-114 IPA. I don’t mind balance but I appreciate a hop-foward IPA too. The aroma is really floral, and the sweetness really amplifies the floral hop aspect. Flavor has a spicy malty/woody hop 1-2 punch going on. Some alcohol noticeable in the flavor but not out of control or anything. A nice IPA, but I did enjoy the X-114 more.
