Draft. Dark tan bronze color with a fluffy head that fades and leaves leaving on the side of the glass. Hops, spice and all that's nice in an iPa. Average

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (apricot, grapefruit, resin), with notes of metal and soap.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Plenty of fruity hops in the nose, tainted a bit by metallic and soapy notes. Rather sour in the mouth and the aftertaste is a little dirty. Pretty standard Widmer quality brew. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear copper with a small off-white head, medium carbonation. The aroma has rye break, spicy hoppiness, grass, resin. The taste is medium bitter with a big rye break taste. This is easy drinking, refreshing, and very similar to Ruthless Rye. Best in this series by far. DocLock (10659) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Bottles from Wegman’s Collegeville and Capone’s. Pours deep caramel colored with splotchy off-white head. Nose is a nice mangoey, piney, semi-feety aroma that reminds me of Simcoe and Citra, my 2 favorite hops, although a bit hot. Tastes rather hot, with a high IBU level, a lot of bitterness, rye malt-light, and some mangoey fruit. The flavor is a bit of a letdown after the smell.

Draft to taster. Looks decent; a transparent gold with resinous off-white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells hoppy and spicy with a malty backbone. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Solid, but not spectacular. jmohno (1612) - Iowa, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Brilliantly clear golden copper.Short head with good lacing.
Fresh hop aroma with fruit/floral. Some strong resiny spice with a light breadyness.Fairly strongly pungent/dank.
Taste is good malt light sweetness, strong hoppiness, slickish smooth, spice is there unlike alot of rye beers I notice-could be the hops as well.Good dryness.Hoppy finish with piney/grapefruit bitter.Another pretty flawless beer from widmer. This one isnt even that fresh yet it seems just bottled. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Bottle. Pours light orange with white head. Smells malty with a touch of citrus. Tastes light, citrus, kinda spicy, bitter finish, not too flavorful. Okay. Emeister84 (2479) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Grapefruit, grass, and caramel aromas. Dark ruby with a fading khaki head. Dry, bitter, and toasty. Medium body, lively carbonation, and finishes with a clean, hoppy profile. Aurelius (5294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Twangy, west coast hop aroma. Clear, tan beer, with an almost-white head which clings to the side of the glass like chainmail. Standard US longneck, bad label. Medium heavy bittering, citrus pith fruitiness, there’s a powderiness to this - like cocoa. Starchy and spritzy body. Dry grapefruit finish. The thing I generally don’t like about most rye beers is that they embody all the flaws of red ales and amplify them. Got this off a passed-out hippie in the New Leaf Market parking lot.
