UPDATED: DEC 6, 2014 Comes out of the tap a clear golden amber with a fine-bubbled pale amber head. Rich and hoppy aroma is strongly evergreen. Strongly hoppy flavor fills the mouth with evergreen so it is like drinking a pine tree. There is a subtle hint of citrus. Thick, full-bodied, fizzy, edgy texture leaves behind a strongly hoppy tingle. This beer is a must for hops lovers! User209050 (23) - - JAN 18, 2013
Really enjoying this six pack brewed on 10-31-2012. Always look for the brewed on date from Widmer Products (same brewery as Red Hook and Kona if on the East Coast) look for NH followed by the date.
Aroma: Exceptional complex fruity and hay. I love the smell its got IPA characteristics through and through. Smell that rye.
Appearance is amber with foamy large but porous head....
Taste: Balance characteristic of all Widmer products with complexity a bitterness but not cloying its clean and fresh for an IPA easily drinkable... I like the Falconers a little more but this tastes exceptional...
Finish is solid stays with you moderate carbonation. Highly drinkable...
Overall Widmer runs the table on other too bitter IPA’s. This drinks great... poisoneddwarf (2688) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - NOV 20, 2011
12 oz bottle. Pours a relatively clear copper-orange with a large pillowy off-white head that retains itself admirably; sudsy lace sheets the glass. Aroma is pungent grapefruit--nice. Taste is bittersweet with no emphasis on either. The hops really shine here with the malt taking a backseat. Rye is noticeable but not overbearing. Carbonation is average, body is medium. A really nice IPA. I wasn’t expcecting much, so it was a nice surprise. Travlr (26406) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 30, 2011
Draft at the brewpub. Bright and clear amber, solid white thick head. Aroma of freshly cut grass and pine. Taste of a hop sandwich on rye bread. Delicious. SudsMcDuff (8541) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - DEC 3, 2011

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.
12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with off white to light tan head. The aroma is a pleasing and full spicy hoppiness mix with spicy hops that run up to the point of chewiness and backed by some modest malt sweetness. OK, I’m really digging this stuff. The taste has near robust levels of spicy hops and likely spicy rye notes that grow from flavor hop notes right into near resiny bitter hoppiness. To midway I notice notes of grapefruit and tangelo citrus hops coming to the surface. The citrus is a nice added touch but it does manage to steal away some of the hop glory from the firm spicy hop contingent. Lovely. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - JAN 17, 2012
Dark molasses hued amber body with a tall, white head. A moderately sweet caramel body with some chocolate notes. Some tropical fruit and a little herb. Great spice arsenal blasting away with rye and hops - not overpowering by any means, but they are centerstage with every sip and never offend. Very well crafted. Great beer. Pours dark amber with a small white head. Nose is hoppy with sweet florals and a hint of rye and fruit.. Palate is big hoppy bitter up front with malts and rye . Light bubble with a bit of bite. Definitely one I’ll be tracking down again. Oscbert (1335) - Lincoln, California, USA - FEB 11, 2013
~Sweet floral hop aroma with orange citrus and spiciness. Sort of like a spicy orange juice. Some faint bready malts in background.
~pours a hazy, beautiful orangish amber color with creamy lasting off white head.
~Interesting flavor. Very citrusy orange like with a sharp rye bite. Really blends well together. Makes me want to go back for more.
~Medium bodied, medium low CO2, lingering spicy but sweet finish.
~Quite a delicious brew. Really like the way the hops and rye compliment each other. jmohno (1679) - Iowa, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Brilliantly clear golden copper.Short head with good lacing.
Fresh hop aroma with fruit/floral. Some strong resiny spice with a light breadyness.Fairly strongly pungent/dank.
Taste is good malt light sweetness, strong hoppiness, slickish smooth, spice is there unlike alot of rye beers I notice-could be the hops as well.Good dryness.Hoppy finish with piney/grapefruit bitter.Another pretty flawless beer from widmer. This one isnt even that fresh yet it seems just bottled.
