Orange with a white head. The aroma is full of pine and grapefruit. The flavor is more complex. I get some strong resinous pine and grass notes, as well as some toffee and a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - JUL 27, 2013
Bottle from Binny’s. Pours light golden orange with white head. Aromas of pale malt, grapefruit, and other citrus hops. Flavors of faded hops, grapefruit, and some pale malts. Think this may have been an older bottle as it was lacking in the hop flavor department. mike67 (1248) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 19, 2013
12 oz bottle with May 2012 date. Pours hazy orange with a long lasting, foamy, white head and lively carbonation. Body is medium and crisp. Biscuit malt, earthy hops and some fruity and citrusy notes. Finish is long and slightly grapefruity. Quite mellow and interesting brew after aging. golfcoach (1) - Oregon, USA - JUN 12, 2013 does not count
This beer is not for everyone. At the first taste your taste buds are surprised by the distinctive grapefruit undertones. Your first impression is "Is this beer good?" You wait take another sip and think "Yes, this is good" Wait a day and drink another Shaddock you will be amazed by the complexity of the beer and the hint of citrus after taste or you don’t really care for grapefruit and a more bitter tone and feel it is just a good beer. For me it is a great beer! Love it! I tip my beer keg to the Widmer Brothers Brewing staff. Just wish it wasn’t on the Rotator Rotation and a beer you could get any time. mikey (503) - farmington, Utah, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Made with grapefruit peel, it has light grapefruit in the nose with a sweet grainy malt is present. Seems rather spicy and earthy as well. The hop bitterness balances well with the lightly sweet caramel and biscuity malt. Pine, grass, and earthy hops are up front, and yet finish with a nice citrus and spicy punch. A very tasty offering.

I like the idea of adding dried grapefruit to the boil. I might have to try that next homebrew. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 22, 2013
Pour is medium amber, head is white. Nose is medium fruity hops, grapefruits, spicy bitter citrus pith and some caramel and toasty maltyness. Flavor lends more of the same fruity and spicy flavors, with some sharp bitters mixed in. Overall a drinkable and more balanced IPA in terms of malt and hops. Not bad. madmitch76 (25382) - , Essex, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2013

Light haze on this amber beer. Tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and smooth with a little fine carbonation. Nice hops - nettley pine and tangy sherbet ciitrus. Finishes smooth with an intense hoppy aftertaste. Really like the sherbet character here.
Draft @ Toronado, San Francisco, CA. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus aroma. Fruity malty hoppy piney flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter piney finish. MOLA_DK (379) - DENMARK - FEB 22, 2013
Bottle at home. Pours slightly hazy amber/orange with a off white head. Very fruity, sweet aroma. Nice initial bitterness, then some malt backbone. Medium body, pleasant bitter aftertaste.
