Bottle while hanging around Sedona apt. Pours orange w ith huge citrus nose, really pleasant. Tastes of super grapefruit, with some pine, resin, pepper, earth, ginger, and grass. Very refreshing brew PorterPounder (7890) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Pours a sparkling medium copper with a sticky off-white head that leaves a decent film of lacing. Hoppy, resiny, aroma with some pine syrup notes and touch of cat urine. Flavor is full-bodied with some tangy spicy, nutty notes, a bit of syrupy maple-like essence with a back end of requisite grapefruit citrus notes. Mouthfeel is thick, sticky and rich. As goes the rest of this series - very solid. mattabadie (8) - - SEP 21, 2012 does not count
Pours golden. Bitterness very evident - definitely notice the grapefruit. A bit more bitter and less floral than what I look for. User134089 (1644) - - SEP 20, 2012
12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Sept. 20, 2012 (purchased at Vons in Mission Gorge (San Diego, Calif.) for a 6-pack price of $8.99 (I think) (with card) on Sept. 19, 2012)). About a finger of head. Honey golden with white head. Average-to-below retention all-around.
Smelled a gigantic whiff of grapefruit citrus hops. Also some lemon and floral notes. A bit bitter, but it all comes together nice.
Tasted close to the nose, but didn’t have the same impact as the nose. Got that grapefruit taste in the front, which gave way to a huge bitter aftertaste. Could almost taste the grapefruit seeds. Got a slight taste of floral hops as well.
Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Long, bitter finish.
A pretty good beer overall. I enjoyed it, but I don’t know how I’ll enjoy the other five. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 18, 2012
12oz bottle. Large off-white head atop clear light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/orange, light bread, spicy. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some orange, light bread, spicy. Medium body, some resin, nicely drinkable.

This ne was a shock to me. Best thing I’ve had from Widmer. The grapefruit is a perfect match for the hop character. Resinous huge aroma. Great fresh hop flavor. berkshirejohn (6450) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2012
12oz bottle from Wegman’s, King of Prussia, PA. An attractive pale amber pour with a loose white head; aroma of grapefruit, and straw drying on a summer’s day, with some pine trees nearby where the resin is so strong it brings tear’s to your eyes; the taste is quite soft and flabby at first, but the grapefruit really picks things up, leading towards a dry and bitter finish. dnbthompson (40) - Bend, Oregon, USA - SEP 14, 2012
We have been impressed with Widmer’s Rotator series of IPAs. This on is one of the favorites. Nice grapefruit tones thru out. Sorry to see this ’rotate’ out of the series but it will be back! Cwrw42 (51) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Nice, big grapefruit hop character. Very drinkable IPA, grapefruit character enhances hop bitterness. Will be back. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Big citrus hops, dank grapefruit. Some cracker malts. One of the biggest citrus aromas I have smelled outside the notorious IPA’s (Sculpin, Heady Topper, etc.). Taste follows the nose, dominated by tart citrus. The finish is bitter, but refreshing. Very little malt flavor and a great hop presence.
Good carbonation with a light-medium body that drys, but refreshes the palate on each sip. I was very impressed by this beer. Fantastic citrus and hops make for a perfect summertime session beer.
