bottle. Pours clear orange gold with frothy, slightly sticky yellow tinged head with good retention. Hoppy aroma, spicy and citrusy. Medium bodied, smooth, pretty creamy, nicely balanced, not over the top bitter. Flavor of caramel and biscuit, a touch of orange, and a really spicy finish with a little bit of subtle grapefruit, definitely some pepper, lasting bitterness. Overall not a bad IPA, a good session, nicely balanced, enjoyable. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 20, 2011
Bottle served in a tulip. Pours clear orange with a medium sized off-white head. Decent retention and lace. Nice hoppy aroma of grass and light pine. The attack is quite bitter with a hint of sweetness. Medium-light body, average carbonation, thin texture and a dry, bitter finish. Light but solid. 12 oz bottle. Clear golden with a pure white, dense head. Aroma of grapefruit pith, flowers, other fruity citrus, and some light malt in the background. Flavor is bitter grapefruit flavored hops with a malt flavor that comes in at the end. Medium body with average carbonation and a slightly rough, abrasive mouth feel. Good IPA from Widmer, just not sure I’m as big a fan of the Citra hop that everyone else seems to be. Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - APR 14, 2011
Various six packs purchased at places around town. Pours the color of apple juice with a moderate but quick fading white head. Aroma is a pure burst of citrus hops. Very similar to Drifter but without the caramel malt backing. Very one note aroma. Taste is also very citrus, but with a bit of pepper as well. I quite enjoyed this one at first, but it’s started to fade a little bit towards mediocrity for me as I drink more. Still a decent beer, but I much prefer Drifter and KGB.

Appearance: Pours a translucent amber gold with a head that subsides to about 1/8 inch of off white foam.boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 11, 2011
Aroma: A big burst of grapefruit and orange zest along side some noticeable floral notes.
Taste: Danky citrus, slightly sweet malt alongside fairly dry pale malt, finishes bitter. The bitterness doesn’t linger, but invites you back for another sip.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation that takes a backseat to the bitterness.
Overall: Above average, fresh, smells great, looks great.
Bottle... Poured pale golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, resinous black papper spice, and dank earthiness. The hops were something else here. Bitter, but light and balanced. Clean mouthful with an easy going finish. Hops had lots of dirty, resinous spice, with some biscuit malt sweetness too. Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - APR 11, 2011
Pours clear gold with a nice frothy white head that has good retention. Aroma of nice crisp citrus and floral hops, also peach/plum/stone fruits in general. Taste is good, some grassy bitterness and a lot of floral and spicy hops with lemon/orange peel. Bitter finish is of moderate length. Pretty light bodied overall, crisp, easy drinking. Nice smooth carbonation. Reid (2555) - Salem, Oregon, USA - MAR 26, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2011 Yes it made it out of the Gausthaus!
12 oz from a 6-pack from Roths Vista Market, Salem. $6.59
Typical light orange coloured IPA body, head is huge, rocky off white.
WOW the aroma is huge resiny, spruce very fresh and in your face.
Taste is very starange for the average IPA, what can be descibed as fresh hop juice tea..veryb low carbonation..like i said like hop juice.
Weird..i liked it butvlack of carbonation-TOTALLY does not lend to likability.
On second thoughts this is just a mess.. Terrible Gooney (389) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 14, 2010
On tap at Widmer - Light color for an IPA. Spicy hoppy aroma and flavor. This is a very nice IPA. I’ll be interested to see if this one makes it out of the Gasthaus.
