3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours an extremely clear light amber color, with a white, small loosely held
head. Nice cotton candy, citrusy nose. Very nice!! I just seem to keep smelling
this one. Meaty dry hopp up front on the
palate. Very thin through the middle with
little to no malt to be found. Finishes dry
with a subtle bitterness. I like a little more body and malt balance in my IPA’s.
Really a decent beer though.

Pale amber color with a fleeting off white head. Strong grassy, floral hop smell. Light - medium body with a prickly mouthfeel.
Has a decent grainy, lightly sweet malt flavor followed by a medium bitter citrus hop taste to finish.
Reminds me of St. Arnolds Elissa IPA.
Not bad. bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JAN 8, 2006
(Draught, Widmer Gasthaus) Pours a clear copper body with a small white head. Aroma of toasted malt and citrus. Crisp, clean hoppy flavor. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 28, 2005
UPDATED: APR 24, 2006 Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of hops/hops/citrus. Strong hop flavors with malts. jtw (1165) - farmington, Michigan, USA - DEC 15, 2005
widmer? hmm. it looks a little light for an IPA, but it sure smells the part - tons of "american" hops and a nice malt presence makes the aroma pleasant on the nose, even if it does smell a bit thin. nice and hoppy initial flavor and decent malt backbone, but a slightly overdry and thin metallic finish don’t leave a great feeling at the end. i don’t care who brewed this, it’s a pretty good IPA anyway.

Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized light tan head. Aromas of oranges, grapefruit, and pineapple. Tastes of pineapple, grapefruit, caramel and pine. I found the body to be a little on the thin side. jazz88 (2683) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 10, 2005
Bottle. A hazy orange color with a light yellow off-white head. A pleasant citrus (grapefruit) and mildly grass hop aroma. Smooth and mildly dry with a big grass flavor. The bitterness shows up at the finish and not at the front. Mildly sweet and more robust than I expected. fordest (2470) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - OCT 1, 2005
Draft at Jack & Son’s Richland, WA. Pretty good stuff. Pours typical golden color with a decent aroma of citrus. Flavors of the same citrusy hops. Very tasty stuff. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 19, 2005
(12oz bottle, 6/7/05) Small off-white head atop a lightly hazed golden/amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, pine, light pineapple. Taste is moderately sweet, pineapple, grapefruit, some caramel, melon. Light-medium body, very drinkable. OldMrCrow (2446) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 6, 2005
From the bottle
Pours gold and nearly clear with a limited head. The aroma is all Pacific NW hops - lovely grapefruit and pine that leaves me aching to try that first sip.
This one is light on the malts, generous but by no means overwhelming on the hops, and exceptionally drinkable.
A first-rate session IPA.
