A pinch of black malt and a splash of roasted barley break this IPA apart from tradition, Cascadian Dark. Join the shady revolution.

Bomber. Pours an opaque black with a moderate, foamy off-white head. Aroma soft caramel and hops. Flavor sweet balanced nicely with bitter. Body medium with soft carbonation. Overall a very nice specimen of the type, but may lack the complexity I?d like to see, and the hops/IPA character takes a back seat where I’d like to see it more up front.

Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some caramel malty tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste.

Rated on 7-25-2015 (Bottle) This beer’s appearance is a medium sized tan head that mostly diminished, opaque dark brown body, fast rising carbonation on sides of the glass, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is light roasted malt light citrus hops. The flavor is lightly bitter, roasted malt and citrus hops. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this is a medium bodied beer. A quaffable beer that has a good flavor and is worth trying.

Great tan head... nice lace and retention... the brew is perfectly black until you get to the bottom and see a crystal clear deeeep brown with deep ruby highlites. Nose has quite a bit of citrus hops and some sorta fruity hoppiness too.. lite dusting of dark malts and mild dry cocoa. Flavor mirrors the nose with a nice bitter bite at the front of the palate ... there is more roasty maltiness than the aroma suggests... quite a bit of bright citrus hoppiness... finish is a little dry with the roasted malts adding some minor astringency. Lite/medium body.... pretty drinkable... I really like this one.

355ml bottle. Black color with beige head. Hoppy and light roasted malty aroma, pine, grassy, grapefruit, caramel, light chocolate. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque black brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was black malt and malty. The smooth mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mediumly tingly finish with a bitter dark malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of black malt roasted malt wood mild hops burnt malt and breads. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Black, almost pitch black, lightly brown head. In aroma mainly malty base, some roasted malt and just hints of citrus hops. In taste malty, citrus notes. MEdium body, medium bitter finish. Old bottle but not that bad in the end, wish I had more fresh one.

Nice deep flavour, lots of hop but surprisingly little head when poured from bottle. Recommended.
