This beer is a bit too heavy for the style, and in my opinion it misses the point of a saison; it wasn’t particularly refreshing. There is a bit of fruit in the flavor, especially strawberries, but this was overwhelmed by the heavier malt flavors. No head. The aroma was very good - light, with a Belgian-like yeastiness and a bit of a floral scent.
off white head with good lacing.. the brew is a good deep amber ... very clear..
Slightly phenolic in the aromas.. a bit of clove and some pepper.. some light caramel and fig notes...
toasty elements with some dried raisin and light clove... interesting almost molasses traces that are of place.. dark rye bread crusts on the finish.. a smattering of honey essence..
The body is expected light/medium.. the carbonation is a touch light for the style but within forgivable range...
Pretty interesting brew with the current Saison craze in the PNW... Pours a red amber with some white foam. Less carb in appearance than most in the style. Excellent clarity. The yeast comes up in the nose spicy and sweet with a wheat like character. Every so often I get a hint of honeydew in the nose. Some grassy flavor.
A bit sharply grainy initially with some peppercorn and a lemony finish. The grain is pronounced with a good sweet flavor. The "saison" flavor is classic and simple. Not a top contender by any means. I’m also not getting anything (maybe a hint of toasty flavor) from the dark malts used.
Mouthfeel is medium light as expected but the carb is just a hint low for the style (which is good IMO). I actually like a hair more body for the sweetness displayed.
It’s a decent beer, especially at the price point, but likely the last time I will have it.

Bottle poured a clear light brown with slight orange hues. Medium light tan head that sticks around. light sweet cidery spicy aroma, lemon, cinnamon. 12oz bottle served in a Tripel Karmeliet tulip.
A - Pours a beautiful clear ruby color with a frothy off-white head. Average lacing.
S - Bananas and clove are the first things to hit the nose, pear, apples, wheat bread, faint bubblegum when warmed to room temperature.
T - Follows the nose with banana, clove, pepper, some sugary pear, candy syrup sweetness, wheat bread. Yeasty, and a tiny hint of peppery alcohol on the finish.
M - Medium body, low to medium carbonation.
Very tasty brew. Good flavors and inviting aroma make this an enjoyable brew. But, style wise this goes against the grain of a Saison.
This is more of Dunkelweizen than a Saison.

Smells like apples and sour fruits and yeast. The flavor is interesting. I definitely get a bit of dark malts and some tart fruit - like pear or green apple. Finish is slightly tart, but not too dry. Bottle. Pours a clear amber brown body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded very quickly. The nose is slightly earthy with some caramel and light chocolate notes. What’s missing seems to be any influence from the yeast, it looks like it’s filtered pretty hard, so I suppose that’s not surprising. Just a light hint of hops. The flavor is pretty far off from what I want in a Saison, it’s very hard and on the sweeter side. Lots of caramel flavor and a little chocolate malt up front. There’s a little bit of farmhouse yeast flavor on the finish, but not enough to really invoke a strong association to the style. Heavily filtered is a quality that just doesn’t belong in a Saison. 12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a clear dark copper color with a thin creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of spice, caramel, bready malts. Almost reminiscent of cola. Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a small off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a pepper yeast and clove. Medium mouthfeel with a spice flavor and dry finish. A ok saison.
