fiulijn (21470) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2011
Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Beautiful color, mahogany with red shades. Light aroma of caramel, dust, cereals. The flavor is soft, with a mix of caramel, light cereals, light roasted nuts. Ordinary bitterness. Simple Dunkel, but easy to drink.

Koelschtrinker (21837) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 2, 2011

shrubber85 (11670) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2010
Bottle. Chocolate/toffee, raisin, and wood aroma. Clear chestnut color and large beige head. Sweet dark chocolate malt, raisin, and mildly bitter herbal flavor. Body on the light side. Excellent.

kappldav123 (6135) - GERMANY - OCT 8, 2010
The bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts malty and dry, a bit rusty, modest fruity notes of raisins and some liquorice. Finish milder but not washy, well balanced and quite drinkable. Not bad!

ogivlado (8167) - Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 24, 2010
On tap at Braugasthof Alte Post, Teisendorf, Bavaria, Germany.

Orange/amber coloured, small off-white head, dusty mild caramel nose. Sweet malty, light caramel and bready taste with notes of brown sugar. Not so pleasant metallic touch in the finish. Rather boring dunkel.

Clear amber with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel, bread and hints of hops. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel, grassy hops and breadish notes. Finished dry and bitter.

gyllenbock (9995) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2010
Clear copper with a medium white head.

Aroma of malt, bread, caramel, nuts and something that reminded of tobacco. The same in the slightly sour flavor, also some yeast. The bottle was little on the old side.

3.2
pivnizub (10848) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - FEB 15, 2010
Bottle: Not really dark, almost only deep golden with a slowly diminishing off-white loose head; moderate clear dark-malty nose with a good dash of toasted malt; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; juicy darek-malt in the moderately sweet and slightly bitter finish. A well crafted brew, not so sweet, but very malt accented.....
