500ml bottle. Nice, clear dark copperish brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Malty aroma with a touch of husk, malt lozenge. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty, hints of malt lozenge; light body, minimally watery, soft carbonation, smooth palate. Simple but nice and tasty.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber to light brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread/nuts, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers, orange, apricot), with notes of toffee and golden raisin. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. I passed this up at Nuernberger Alm despite it being a special offering (to explore Lindenbraeu more, which didn’t pan out), but thankfully Landbierparadies has plenty of this too. Quite fruity-hoppy, wonderful nose that’s varied and very enticing (although I could see Jeffy finding grape jelly in this, due to the distinct raisiny character, so it’s anyone’s guess what he will think). Very clean and balanced and creamy in the mouth...the first 4+ brew of the trip so far (and hopefully not the last).

(bottle) pours a clear copper-amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of dark fruit, light bread dough and yeast, quite nondescript, with a hint of roasted malts. flavour is mostly the same, dark fruit and toasted malts, with a light hint of butter, bubble gum, raisins and a very chalky finish. light to medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark, small head. Starts malty-dry, a bit moldy. Finish with some grasy hints, a bit drier. Okay.

ganache (6089) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2012
Bottle by 24.12.12. Toffee and caramel nose is a little gooey, pours a clear and pretty amber with a tan head. Taste is very sweet and sticky with lots of good toffeeish malt, berry and earth, hind of ash. Light body smooth with just a slight prickle, good malt waves. Like this one a lot.

500ml bottle! In the glass is a gorgeous ruby red, dark beer with a fine, flat, long-lasting head. Smells caramel malty, minimal sugary soft and comfortable. Starts also very soft, malty and caramel-sweet. A pleasant bready note rounds out the flavor! To the center part, the sweet note dominates from now on to the finish!
