Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber to light brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread/nuts, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers, orange, apricot), with notes of toffee and golden raisin. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. I passed this up at Nuernberger Alm despite it being a special offering (to explore Lindenbraeu more, which didn’t pan out), but thankfully Landbierparadies has plenty of this too. Quite fruity-hoppy, wonderful nose that’s varied and very enticing (although I could see Jeffy finding grape jelly in this, due to the distinct raisiny character, so it’s anyone’s guess what he will think). Very clean and balanced and creamy in the mouth...the first 4+ brew of the trip so far (and hopefully not the last).

Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, dark orange appearance with a foamy, tan head. Big nutty, woody, herbal aroma. A little chewy, sweet toffee/caramel malty, woody, herbal flavor. Nice stuff.

ganache (6050) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2012
Bottle by 24.12.12. Toffee and caramel nose is a little gooey, pours a clear and pretty amber with a tan head. Taste is very sweet and sticky with lots of good toffeeish malt, berry and earth, hind of ash. Light body smooth with just a slight prickle, good malt waves. Like this one a lot.

Draught @ Brauerei Wiethaler, Welserplatz 6-7, 91207 Neunhof, Germany.
Clear medium amber brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread - danish ryebread, roasted, caramel, brown sugar notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090704]
