On tap at the Wig and Pen. Head is a murderously small and thin, brown-purple affair. Decent aromas of bitter chocolate, and very strong bitter chocolate flavour that I suspect is that way due to the high ABV (~6%). The body is a bit too thin to properly support such strong flavour though I feel - could be better with some creaming up (whatever that might entail). Tasty nontheless, though. these guys really know what they're doing. a very interesting porter, not quite what i expected, but i get the idea that they're not fumbling around in the dark. odd smell is of plums and artificial chocolate. super-oily texture, with luscious chocolate flavour, not a lot of burnt stuff, and a bit of yeasty fruit, winding up with a classy acidity that reminded me of pitfield porter. this has got to have actual chocolate in it or i'll eat my proverbial hat, or proverbially eat my hat anyway.
