COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Wiibroe Porter (Imperial Stout) huskes stadig som verdens bedste Porter. Den blev lanceret i 1930 og fandt i en årrække også vej til udlandet, hvor den solgtes i mindre flasker. I 1996 vandt Wiibroe Porter sølvmedalje i verdensmesterskabet for ølbrygning.

Bottle shared at Columbus tasting 7 - Poured dark brown with a short tan head and some lace. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, some smokey notes and lots of dark fruit. Flavor is full of dark chocolate and dark fruits. Some smoke there too. Oily palate with a soft mouthfeel and good carbonation. Not bad.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at the end of the night behind the Mikkeller stand at Ølfestival. Wish to god I could remember who gave us this so I could say thanks but alas after all the BGB I just can’t remember. Sadly due to our inebriated condition our notes were a little thin on the ground also so in homage to the evening my notes stay as they are in the book... "caramel, malt, very smoky" that’s it I’m afraid. Damn good beer though!

Black body with brown disapearing head. Aroma is of roested malt and bread. Flavor is roasted, bready and sweet. Subtle notes of smoke. A burnt aftertaste that lasts long. Palate is thick and syrupy.

pivnizub (10729) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 9, 2007
Bottle: Literally black coloured, small and stable brownish head; a tinge of dark and roasted malt in the quite distinctive alcoholic nose; very robust bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied; chocolatey, roast-malty finish with a distinctive lingering bitterness in the salty aftertaste.........

illinismitty (2271) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 7, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2007 Bottle from Kristian (mikkeller). Pours deep brown with and creamy brown head (think chocolate milkshake). Aroma is very roasty, along with some nutshells and perhaps some chocolate milk. Flavor of dried dark fruits, roast, nuts. Strong notes of tobacco mid palate, that carries through to the finish and lingers. Finish also has some alcohol and dryness, and the lager characteristics make an appearance as well.. A decent traditional baltic, but I liked Alderis Porteris better as far as flavor (this has a much better mouthfeel). Do not drink this cold, as the bitterness is unpleasant with the lager yeast.
