Bottle @home (rating backlog). Pours yellow/golden, cloudy, big fluffy head. Nose is orange, grapefruit, pear and some yeast. Taste is tart and slightly sour, slight esters, fruity and zesty, odd phrase but it tastes clean.

Bottled (Spontaneous KSMT tasting). Hazy golden colour witha small white head. Aroma is toffee, some sour wood with mild ripe fruitiness. Flavour is very much sour wood with some citrus, mild herbs and spicy notes along with some slight yeasty notes. The sourness in the flavour came quite much by surprise, the aroma didn’t give much of a warning here.

330ml bottle from Hemelvaart Bier Cafe, Bedale. Hazy yellow colour, fizzy white foam head and aroma of lemony citrus rind, grain, yeasty funk. Taste is vinegar sour, citric fruity, lemon zest, grains, barnyard with yeast, hay & biscuit notes. Fairly smooth mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry tangy sour finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle. A clear straw colour with a thin white head. Aroma of apricot, pear, lemon zest, some yeast funk, straw and slight wood. Taste of apricot, grapefruit, pear, sharp lemon zest, yeast, straw and slight barnyard. Light bodied and a mouth filling oily texture. A dry, clean, sharp lemon finish. A funky, lightly sour wild ale. Crisp, clean and close to a good Belgian lambic.

Bottle at home from We Brought Beer in Balham. A dull night in has just found an added dimension. One of Wild Beer Co.’s best ever sours and it’s got some great Belgian lambic character. If you told me this was a new Cantillon beer I’d believe you. Colour is a pale golden amber, no lasting head. Nose is genuinely lambic funky, farmyard, light fruity, peach, sour, tart, acidic, brown apple flesh, pineapple, white vinegar. This is really good. Think it might top barrel aged sour grapes as the best ever British lambic. Taste is tart, sour, light body, light white vinegar, white apple flesh that’s turning brown, white wine and white wine vinegar, acidic bite. It’s not a big full lambic flavour but light and fruity and acidic. Make this a regular chaps, if it’s always as good as this.

Bottle at home split with Sarah. Picked up from Bottledog KingsX. Clear bright yellow / straw coloured pour with a light haze and a thin halo of pure white head. Aroma is tangy sour, onion, splash of vinegar, grapes. Little sweet and sour thing on the nose as well. Vanilla. Flavour is grainy, sour grapes, apricot, little creamy, dry pucker, spicy finsh. Palate is medium bodies, dry sour finish. Little grape skin tanin. Lingering sour and cream cake. decent.

Amber colour with a very slight cream head, very slight fizz in the glass. Lovely sour nose like a lambic. Delicious sour taste with a wheaty after-taste - superb!
